Yeah, man, it’s an absolute mystery why so many people are going all in on AI refusal. Maybe they absolutely do understand the ways in which AI is “useful” to the people hawking AI in the words of those very people.
Sadly, when you are sitting on top of that many billions of dollars, the stares don't matter. And despite the tragic loss these people have experienced, the addiction to #SocialMedia among youth and the vulnerable continues unabated.
The world gets stranger by the day. #OpenAI is buying #Promptfoo, a startup that enables large businesses to fix security issues in #AIAgents during their development, helping corporations reduce risks from deploying #AI software. We spend money on tech and tech to protect tech - but not on people.
AI is polling lower than #ICE and just above the #DemocraticParty. Signs of a growing backlash to #AI? Very possible. Will anything come of it - completely unclear as long as businesses see it as a way to cut labor costs.
Anthropic’s lawsuit matters far beyond #AI. If the #Government can punish firms for refusing to surveil the public or deploy autonomous killing systems, #freespeech becomes conditional on obedience. The stakes are higher than people realize.

Everything has become gambling - including betting on human suffering. Maybe we’ll get some regulation around the edges in the future but I don't think we’ll ever go back now that we've started down this road.
I’m willing to see wait but not long. Remember this is not just about working with the military but being banned from working with any other company that does - those are high stakes. There’s no deal yet and they may still walk away. We should know by Friday but I get your skepticism - and anger.

This is the unspoken issue in AI implementation and it’s impacting much more than the creative fields. AI - amazing as it is - is an easy way to avoid hiring and paying entry level employees and interns. Businesses may save money but graduating students will find closed doors to a career path.
A screenless #laptop may be novel but it’s still a solution looking for a problem. Until our #XRGlasses get light years better than they are now, no one is going to use this. And honestly, you could create the same setup on any laptop and have more flexibility.
