Instagram, YouTube found liable in lawsuit alleging they were designed to addict kids Jurors handed down a landmark decision in Los Angeles County Superior Court in a civil trial over a lawsuit filed by a Chico woman who charged social media companies built apps to hook young people.

Historic verdict today: a CA jury just found #Meta & #YouTube liable for designing platforms to addict a child. Not about content - about architecture. Thousands of similar suits to follow. This may be #socialMedia's "Big Tobacco moment." #AI platforms, you're next.

AIs can’t stop recommending nuclear strikes in war game simulations Leading AIs from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google opted to use nuclear weapons in simulated war games in 95 per cent of cases

The end result of #AI war games? 95% ended in #nuclear weapons deployment. Not because the machines are evil. Because they don't feel the stakes the way humans do. Now the government is pushing to remove #AIguardrails. What could go wrong? www.newscientist.com/article/2516...

Cascade of A.I. Fakes About War With Iran Causes Chaos Online The technology has been used to create misleading fakes before. But never at this scale.

With #AI everywhere, we can no longer rely on visual evidence in the #IranWar. The Cascade of #AIFakes - from scenes of fake destruction to crying soldiers - is staggering. And no surprise, #socialMedia companies are doing nothing to stop it. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Yeah, man, it’s an absolute mystery why so many people are going all in on AI refusal. Maybe they absolutely do understand the ways in which AI is “useful” to the people hawking AI in the words of those very people.

Sadly, when you are sitting on top of that many billions of dollars, the stares don't matter. And despite the tragic loss these people have experienced, the addiction to #SocialMedia among youth and the vulnerable continues unabated.

The world gets stranger by the day. #OpenAI is buying #Promptfoo, a startup that enables large businesses to fix security issues in #AIAgents during their development, helping corporations reduce risks from deploying #AI software. We spend money on tech and tech to protect tech - but not on people.

AI is polling lower than #ICE and just above the #DemocraticParty. Signs of a growing backlash to #AI? Very possible. Will anything come of it - completely unclear as long as businesses see it as a way to cut labor costs.

Anthropic Sues US Government Over Supply Chain Risk Label Anthropic PBC sued the Defense Department for declaring that the artificial intelligence giant posed a risk to the US supply chain, further ramping up a high-stakes dispute with the Pentagon over safe...

Anthropic’s lawsuit matters far beyond #AI. If the #Government can punish firms for refusing to surveil the public or deploy autonomous killing systems, #freespeech becomes conditional on obedience. The stakes are higher than people realize.

And somehow, we stay fixated on only #AI having hallucinations.

Damn, the guy deserves more than 30K for exposing that security risk.

Sadly, this is likely the future of every #worker in the service industry - at least until they’re replaced. No supervisor can monitor employees 24/7 but #AI will do it at minimal cost.

How Talks Between Anthropic and the Defense Dept. Fell Apart

So many more questions than answers as the #AI deal between @anthropic.com and #DOD fell apart. A clash of headstrong personalities? Real #ethical issues? Sam Altman being opportunistic? The one thing missing in these discussions - our freedoms. www.nytimes.com/2026/03/01/t...

Everything has become gambling - including betting on human suffering. Maybe we’ll get some regulation around the edges in the future but I don't think we’ll ever go back now that we've started down this road.

I’m willing to see wait but not long. Remember this is not just about working with the military but being banned from working with any other company that does - those are high stakes. There’s no deal yet and they may still walk away. We should know by Friday but I get your skepticism - and anger.

Thoroughly disappointed, but don't want to jump to conclusions. Have to see how this all shakes out. But over 3 years into the #GenAI revolution, #Ethics has clearly taken a back seat if it's even on the bus at all. #AI is going to blow up on us when someone uses it for truly nefarious purposes.

User accidentally gains control of over 6,700 robot vacuums while tinkering with their own device to enable control with a PlayStation controller — security flaw reveals floor plans and live video fee... Did he just unintentionally raise his own robot army?

Hey! It’s easy to create a robot army! This guy linked his #Robot vacuum to a #PlayStation controller and accidentally gained control of 6,700 vacuums worldwide with live video, Mics, and Floor plans.

Nothing like mixing #AI with bad #security practices.

There's a Grim New Expression: "AI;DR" The slang is a sign of how overrun the internet is with AI slop — and how the real humans using it are fed up.

I still prefer the term “AI Slop” as it seems more appropriate for the #AI generated garage on the web, but I can see “AI;DR” taking off. We’re being overwhelmed with crap we can easily create on our own - and we don’t need to waste out time reading it. futurism.com/artificial-i...

This is the unspoken issue in AI implementation and it’s impacting much more than the creative fields. AI - amazing as it is - is an easy way to avoid hiring and paying entry level employees and interns. Businesses may save money but graduating students will find closed doors to a career path.

The World's First Screenless Laptop Has Arrived. Welcome To The Future Of Computing Technology

A screenless #laptop may be novel but it’s still a solution looking for a problem. Until our #XRGlasses get light years better than they are now, no one is going to use this. And honestly, you could create the same setup on any laptop and have more flexibility.

The Problem With Letting AI Do the Grunt Work Artificial intelligence is destroying the career ladder for aspiring artists.

Will #AI destroy the careers of future #artists. AI will create new forms of creative expression but it’s already destroying the pathways to becoming an artist in any field. Will anyone hire an intern or entry level student when AI can do the job?

You have to stop the constant podcasts. One help for me was getting the new Shokz Openfit 2+ earbuds. Since they are open ear devices and not noise canceling, I use them more and just have music on in the background of my life.

#NYC usually does security right - hey, we do huge events like #NewYearsEve - but the new mayors inauguration is also banning Raspberry Pi and Flipper Zero. WTF? Start banning individual devices and you’re going to have to publish a book of prohibited devices blog.adafruit.com/2025/12/30/n...

Too bad Native Americans didn't think of charging asylum seekers a $1,000 each to enter what would become the U.S. They would have wiped up monetarily with the Pilgrims and everyone else.

Should have posted a sign on Plymouth Rock - $1,000 to step here.

Apple's reorg of #Siri team might actually result in getting a product out the door. Right now, Siri is an utter embarrassment for #Apple - especially after 2.5 years of #GenAI being around.
