But the angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, “He has been raised from the dead." ’ Matthew 28:5-7

He was wounded for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the punishment that made us whole,
and by his bruises we are healed.

Some of you may be aware that recent government guidance in the UK states that transgender people should not be allowed to use single-sex spaces that align with their gender identity, leaving them excluded and at risk in many places.

The main devotion for each day is in the morning and is usually 12 to 14 minutes long. There's also midday (5-6 mins) and night (7-8 mins) readings and prayers if you would like to add those to your day.
Go on. Give it a try.

For Lent why not try this app for short daily devotions. During Lent they are concentrating on the Desert Fathers and Mothers, which goes along with our Lent theme this year of 'In the Wilderness Prepare the Way of the Lord'.

Any volunteer able to repair this for us? It covers our gas meter. Mainly just needs the front replaced, which is a door that needs to open so the meter can be read.

HAPPY EPIPHANY!
The Magi came from the East where they had first seen the wondrous star. Herod, the priests & scribes all ignored the Star and missed the arrival of Christ. What about you? Signs that God has come to you are all around. Do you have the courage to find Christ in your world and life?
Un-Decorating Party
Tuesday, 6th January, 10 am to 12 noon
Come help us take down our Advent & Christmas decorations on Epiphany as the Season of Christmas comes to a close.
When you are afraid, because this world is cruel and harsh,
or because humans are deported and shot without reason,
or because we cannot remember how to talk to each other civilly,
I will be your pack.
I will stay by your side.
I will run with you
until we reach the sun.

The good news of God has weight & presence. But it needs to be amplified. Proclaimed.
In a world where fear is curated and fed to us, proclaiming good news is a countercultural act.
In a world that tells marginalized communities to be quiet, that punishes joy & rage alike, joy becomes resistance.
This is the shape of God’s dream:
news born in vulnerability,
joy proclaimed by the overlooked,
power shown not through force,
but through flesh.
Fear may be loud, but love is louder.
Violence may be strong, but hope is stronger.
And the good news—God is here—will not be silenced.
