While clumsy, I understand the poster's point. The problem is the word 'falling' which to some suggests a reduction in prices. It would be better to use the phrase 'the rate of inflation is slowing'.

Inflation can't 'fall', however the 'rate' of inflation can 'reduce'. The word 'falling' is the misleading wordplay they use to convince people like you that prices are becoming cheaper. If prices reduce that's called 'deflation'.
