You know who I’m thinking about today? The children who survived. They’re all wounded, physical or otherwise. #Uvalde
We’ve wounded an entire generation with our gun madness. What gives me hope is that they’re starting to reach voting age.
The NIH is also now in talks with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to broaden agreements governing access to their data, Bhattacharya said. In addition, a new disease registry is being launched to track Americans with autism, which will be integrated into the data. Between 10 and 20 outside groups of researchers will be given grant funding and access to the records to produce Kennedy's autism studies. Bhattacharya did not give details on how they would be chosen, but said their selection would be "run through normal NIH processes."
Gun registry? No. Autism registry? Yes?
Fuck ALL the way off.
It feels like a bunch of psychologically damaged people are working out their issues on an entire country.

The fight going on in the Democratic Party right now is not between hard left, left and moderate. It’s between those who want to fight and those who want to cave. And Team Fight stretches across all ideological aspects of the Party. Misread this at your own peril.

@aoc.bsky.social: "Tax cuts cost money. We have to pay for them. So every dollar that you spend in federal taxes is going to pay for some rich person's G-Wagon. And it's also going to cut an 8-year-old kid with autism's ability to access Medicaid. That's what they are putting on the table."
“After we’ve discriminated against, deported, or disparaged all the immigrants, the gay and lesbian and transgender people, the developmentally disabled, the women, and minorities. Once we’ve ostracized our neighbors and betrayed our friends… what comes next?” - Gov. JB Pritzker
This is a post from mark.jm.mcintyre that reads: "Just a thought for JD Vance: societies with freedom of speech do not issue executive orders forbidding science papers to use the words women, transgender, equity, diversity, hate-speech, non-binary, pregnant, LGBT. They do not ban books on climate change, equality and diversity. They do not prevent journalists from reporting. They do not threaten news outlets with SLAPP lawsuits unless they suppress free speech. You, sir, are the anti-free-speech team, and history will record it.
Free speech means we can use the vocabulary we need to use in our scientific papers and news articles.

The irony of the richest man in the world almost single-handedly destroying an agency designed to help the world’s poor, so that the U.S. federal budget has more room for another giant tax cut for the richest man in the world and his pals, should not be lost on anyone. [Cartoon by Mike Luckovich]
On this day one year ago, one person was killed and 22 others were wounded—including at least eight children—in a shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl victory parade. Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a mother of two and a beloved Kansas City-area DJ and radio show host, was the fatal shooting victim.

These students are making such a difference! Their passion, knowledge and willingness to show up is impressive, especially when you consider the levels of gun violence they've been exposed to in their short lives. Big fan. #studentsdemandaction
