You’re telling me Donald Trump, a real estate fraud with ties to the mob, turned a real estate deal into a money laundering op? Heavens!

Texas GOP: here’s our
New district map. We specifically gerrymandered it to be as racist as possible. What do you mean you don’t like it?!

They keep forgetting people have agency and can react to the things they do. Every time.

If I were a Democrat on any Security Committee, you couldn't drag me to within a hundred yards of the White House right now. I'd treat the place like the fucking Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.

Oh the entire White House will need to be stripped down to the studs to make sure they get all the spy devices. That place is so compromised, I'm sure there are bugs placed by the New Zeland Secret Service in there somewhere.

I was looking up something on Jewish culture in England in the 1200s and boy was that a bummer.

Working on it. They want like 5 methods of authentication though. It's deliberately difficult.

Congrats! And well worth it.

We get the small white herons in the fall. They stop over to hang out with the cows for a few days on their way south.

Nothing says Ruthless Warfighting Machine like having ten thousand soldiers down with explosive diharhea.

"We totally would have beaten Iran if our entire senior staff wasn't hurling over the side of the USS Ronald Reagan."

The Greek's are notably one of the few pantheons that doesn't have an explicit trickster god like Loki or Coyote, but that's only because Hermes was so good at it, he managed to always avoid being caught.

Hermes is also the patron of magicians and searchers of knowledge both mundane and esoteric, so every explorer, wizard and swashbuckling fool is one of his, whether they know it or not.

Yeah now imagine it boiled to the consistency of rubber and seasoned with enough cumin to make your eyes water. Yum?

These days, anthropologists aren’t even certain where Thoth Hermes came from. He might have been Egyptian or Hellenic to start with. which is fitting for the god of travelers, boundary crossing, immigrants and magicians.

Yes this makes a lot more sense when you look at their Egyptian and Sumerian cognates. Bullfinch really did number on the gods, locking them into very tidy little boxes. They’re way more fluid and messy with both cultural and regional variations.

I quite like a lot of the Tex Mex food other whites turn their nose up at, like barbacoa and cabrito but there's a line and tripe is on the other side of it. Maybe It's because I'm a transplant to Texas (and perhaps my privilege is showing a bit).

Does it make me an old fart if I think exclamation points in your application cover letter make you look unprofessional? I'm glad your excited! save it for the interview. I've got 100 more of these things to read today and I just need the facts, conveyed as clearly and simply as possible.

Adding, “call for a full congressional Investigation of the FCC,” to my 2028 list of demands for Dem candidates. I think this is item 84.

I forgot President Jackass signed an EO eliminating paper checks from the IRS because he hates poor people that much.

When I South my taxes, turbo tax wanted to do a complicated financial shuffle in order to validate my bank account so I opted for a paper check for tax return instead. Just got a letter from the IRS asking me to go online and fill out the direct deposit info anyway.

This is 100% true and also they have since extended it to shooting everything in green screen rooms because it’s cheeper to use non-union CGI contractors for set decorating and props because those departments are also union.

Covid was in the US earlier than officially stated. The 1st official US case was in 01/21 but a friend of mine had a bout of that “really bad flu” that was going around in 10/20. He later went to a checkup in 04/21 and his doctor asked when he’d had Covid because his bloodwork showed antibodies.

Everyone complains about the Roger Moore movies having silly plots but they aren’t any worse than Connery’s run. (And Connery’s movies have some truly cringeworthy racism and sexism, which is way worse).

Look everybody, we don’t have to go through Palintir’s evil manifesto of evil. It’s Loki’s speech from the first Avenger’s movie in Power Point form. It’s self-evident bullshit. Point and laugh and move on.
