"God of Chaos nearing Earth" is a crazy headline for a Friday morning.

pretty fucked up that desire manifests without consent of the beholder

I like to think I operate on an internal logic, but when I try and verbalize it there clearly isn't.
I got banned from twitter in 2023 for this drawing. They called it "violent speech". It had over 40K likes and too many comments for me to read before my ban, but I still see it floating around here and there. Save a copy, and use it freely. No attribution needed. Love u

this is so fucking horrific ๐ฃ
What do you mean its going to be cloudy and rainy on "Sun"-day? Listen to yourself.
Something that goes into your body and fucks up bad things without demolishing your own body is pretty magical.
He needed to be set straight.
I mean this sincerely, if you reach a point where you are unable to speak about the things that matter to you on the websites you use, I would happily assist you in getting started. If you feel these barriers are insurmountable alone then let it be my responsibility to help others cross them.
We share a common goal in wanting communal infrastructure, but I don't believe it will be built by tech CEOs. I truly believe these hurdles are surmountable because 25 years ago anyone interested was able to create their own pages.
I think monied interests will try to strip away your control and erase what they don't like. The platforms will decide appropriate topics you can talk about and push propaganda into your algorithm, look at twitter and tiktok. Social media is becoming a toolkit for American right wing propaganda.
If you have an internet connection you have the ability to host something yourself. Basic HTML is like 10 tags. This is not a real limitation. You can use CSS and a hosting server for ~$15 a month if you want something more polished. These are not high barriers and I believe anyone can cross them.
Chances are this ruling will just end up with carve-outs for companies at large enough scale with some obligatory "advisory boards" that don't do anything other than stamp out medium sized companies. It was just wishful thinking on my end.
I am sure they do, and I am sure they will be. That's why I would rather people self host and be liable only to themselves, but I was thinking about it and I actually think you're right. I was imagining a world without 230, but this world does have it and companies bend the rules all the time.
I hope it kills social media altogether and forces people to self host websites and blogs. I would love to see users free of their curated algorithms, and bots being forced to crawl through hyperlink labyrinths, and advertising becoming harder, and user content becoming way more unique.
I don't think that's an accurate vision of the future. Without section 230 if companies grow too big they will be unable to moderate tens of millions of users. It won't be viable. At best you will have small forums with rigid rules and neopets style moderation.
Its a fair point, but I personally welcome the destruction of the modern internet, the internet being 4 big websites that everyone posts sucks. I want everyone to make their own website and link to friends. If the biggest tech companies in the world have to die for that internet to be born so be it.
I can't be bad because I am just doing what everyone else is doing and if everyone is doing it its normal and not bad.
People who use amazon are no different than the people in wall-e to me.
Yeah, I thought I was letting my asd show a bit too much. I didn't intend to send the initial reply. Apologies. ๐
I didn't realize this sent. Wasn't sure if I was going to say anything, but yeah, wouldn't recommend. It actually fucked me up a lot. Some unhealthy food is better than very little healthy food.
Tried this
i love working on my website but i would NEVER EVER WVER add actual content to it
Sucks how $20 is more like $5 when you spend it, but more like $50 to earn it.
the money is poisoning their brains we need to save them
Applying to jobs on my current company's laptop.
For the last 3 matches I haven't had a teammate though, which is weird. Still climbing though.
Still ~30 minutes during European evening. I think its actually that bronze players give up before silver and players who are half decent move to gold and author quickly. Almost into gold and hopefully faster queue times.
We are pushing 30 minute queue. If we hit it I am quitting.
