We could also just give them a light sprinkling of measles and other diseases easily prevented by safe and effective vaccines before they head south for the winter.

The boil advisories are due to the legal requirement to issue one anytime a pipe is opened for work, it is not due to any actual quality concerns. The facts around this are important to acknowledge. There have been NO boil advisories related to quality of water. All were precautionary.

Our water in Iqaluit is pristine, some of the best drinking water anywhere. The isolated contamination issue was awful, but was fully dealt with several years ago now. There is no uncertainty whatsoever except that raised unnecessarily by statements like this.

Only $0.01 out of the tap for the same amount. And our tap water is probably better than what’s in the bottle. Lol

$6 billion in new debt could be targeted in far more meaningful ways. A one time payment of $250 for every worker making $150k or less is just vote buying at this point. Fund housing. Fund schools. Fund low income families. Build shelters. Fund healthcare to remote communities. Invest in cities.

I am yet to be convinced that $6 billion of new Federal debt is justified to fund the proposed $250 cheques and two month GST holiday in Canada. Limited actual benefit to recipients, massive public cost and a real logistical blow for businesses.

An Iqaluit developed, Iqaluit written Iqaluit-shot tv show… I can’t wait to watch!
Now, how was the news of the premiere in January broken (to me, anyways) by Yellowknife media and not our local crews? Come east, @cabinradio.ca neighbours, we’ve never needed you more.

Well, let’s see if we can make this productive. Iqaluit, 2025 Capital and Operating budget work is underway. What reasonable things would you like to see in the coming year? From services to infrastructure and equipment, what’s needed.
*paving plateau is a known want/need before you even start.
