Wonderful end to another amazing Annual Assembly. Tomorrow, it’s back to work but today is reading in the California sun. #hapc26

Thank you to all our #HAPC26 attendees for a fantastic Day 1! We had an incredible first day and are excited to get Day 2 kicked off.
So proud to know and learn from Rikki since residency!
The daughter said store cinnamon rolls are better, so we had to do some science. Somehow, she still ranks them higher than homemade deliciousness.
After a lovely family bike ride, my Just Ice Tea provided pretty wonderful quote and makes me want to re-read Just Mercy.
We’re only 27 days away from the 2026 Annual Assembly 🎉 Get ready for connection, inspiration, and forward‑thinking sessions that move our field ahead.

In case anyone wants to know where the eggs from Hazel’s Hens come from.
Went on a hike with @hospicemd.bsky.social Found a spiky boi.
Happy holidays from KeptSpec! Not to worry, the 5 yo only GCs on gingerbread houses.
Mother Earth reminding us that things will be ok.
Remembrance Tree: every year one of our trees is dedicated to our loved ones who can’t be with us. From homemade pieces by family to ornaments from our hospice in memory of them. #hospice #remembering
One of the sweetest things to see is just family being together and telling funny stories that not everyone has heard. The laughter is amazing. If it’s someone who prefers quiet, puzzles and crafts can be very soothing if they are still able to do them. And just tell them how much they mean to you.
What do they like to do? Some of my favorites that my patients have taught me is recording legacy (there’s books specifically for having your loved one tell their life story, but also some folks have recorded videos or written letters for their loved ones to have when they are gone).
Met a new neighborhood friend on my run today. #cat
I finally created pages for my two small businesses.

If you are local to Western NC, need some custom furniture, need some project management, or just like to support small business you should give me a follow.

You know you live in a neurodivergent household when you are on your 4th cipher-poem of the weekend. Happy Mother’s Day! Hope yours is also filled with ciphers because this is very fun.

Pritzker: It’s time for us to be done with optimism about their motives. Time to stop wondering if you can trust the nuclear codes to people who don’t know how to organize a group chat. It’s time to stop ignoring the hypocrisy in wearing a big gold cross while announcing the defunding of children’s cancer research… Autistic kids and adults who are loving contributors to our society don’t deserve to be stigmatized by a weird nepo baby who once stashed a dead bear in his car. Our military service members don’t deserve to be told by a washed-up Fox TV commentator, who drank too much before being appointed Secretary of Defense, that they can’t serve their country simply because they are Black, gay, or a woman.
Dear god let this man cook.
Many of us are struggling with a desperate sense of urgency while it seems so many others are asleep. It was 2.5 years from the Boston Tea Party to the Declaration of Independence. We've had 3 months. That war was won because day after day, people chose to keep going
Keep going friends. Goodnight💚

I should not be allowed to go anywhere that sells plants once the temperatures are above freezing.
Not to put too fine of a point on this, but if I spent the last few months putting innocent people in concentration camps and the pope died basically three seconds after I met him, I would not continue life apace, I would not immediately clock back in at the fascism factory.
I got buttercream on my new running shoes and it feels like this is a metaphor of my relationship to food and fitness.
"It is the theory of the Protectionist that imports are an evil. He thinks that if you shut out the foreign-imported manufactured goods you will make these goods yourselves, in addition to the goods which you make now, including those goods which we make to exchange for the foreign goods that come in. If a man can believe that he can believe anything. [Laughter.] We Free-traders say it is not true. To think you can make a man richer by putting on a tax is like a man thinking that he can stand in a bucket and lift himself up by the handle." - Winston Churchill about tariffs

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.
Ok, well valid. Also, when are you buying this for me?
Math is fun. This is not math, just Republican plans with fancy letters that they hoped no one would notice or think through.
Thanks to @standupmaths.bsky.social for this lovely video explaining the #tariff chart.
Also, glad someone else cringed at the *.
