oh noooo that's a very good point too 😭 I've got a stash of lettering pieces of lyrics that would have been neat to pair up with the og music but between one thing and another it's not something I've rushed out to do. Shame, since that seems to be where a lot of lettering art is 😔
agreed! Like it's taken them a good what, 10-15 years to add desktop posting functionality? And even then it's still not 100% the same as the app! The hoops these social media sites want people to jump through to post stuff istg...
yeah no I noticed something similar with something else, I think it was trying to add audio/music to a post? Can't find functionality anywhere on desktop (last I looked), but built in for mobile? But preparing art and moving it across to a mobile device is so much effort T^T

The way profit maxxing corpo culture has invaded every form of art through algorithms pushing people into daily posting is really weighing on me lately. Efficiency and regularity of making "content" being prized above all else feels so grim, man.
Its not a hot take but man the way the word "content" is used these days. A vile bit of late stage capitalist propaganda, lumping all forms of human creativity and expression into a single wastebin teaching the public to treat all art as disposable.

"saving time" with art is inherently nonsensical. there's no such thing as being efficient with art. art is not quantifiable, there's no way to measure/reduce what it takes to make it
there's economizing, though, and that's expertise in strategizing and condensing your steps within your limitations
"saving time" in the art is an argument to disrespect the process of making art. it's saying there's parts of it that are beneath you and don't have value
lettering has value. it's page composition, it's eyepath flow. figuring out how to show characters talking is the fucking point of comics
lettering is not "just type words on a page and place them where there's room". that's an ignoramus' idea of lettering.
lettering controls pacing. it controls tone. it controls atmosphere. it controls how readable the visuals are, much less the text. letterers get enough disrespect, jfc.

When the typo gives you lemons, make lemonade. Or soup. Text reading "Assassin's Creed Brothood" in the stylings of the original series logo, with a cauldron-like pot full of a thick orange soup with vegetable chunks pouring out the front, and various vegetables surrounding it including potatoes, cauliflower, onion and carrots. Beneath the pot is a brown loading bar, filling with the same soup-like liquid, and text reading beneath it in allcaps "Loading: Winter". Beneath the loading bar, in italics reads "you live BY the soup, or you die IN the soup". The image is tied togethher with a rainbow border full of squares of each colour used in the rest of the illustration.
