I think they just used the company name to segue into writing about the opera. So it's the opera that's featured not the cosmetic company.

The Atlantic writers manage to make an article about bread have some very "let them eat cake" energy

If this actually happens, it may rank as the single most corrupt act in the history of American politics. I cannot believe this is even under discussion.
For sure. We thought learning new things and meeting new people was awesome. But unfettered capitalism ruins everything. ☹️

This guy is shit at telling stories. Just engagement bait. Ever since he did that rice story (which I suspect he invented) I keep seeing him pop up with more like this.
A Beagle standing in a yard full of snow
Ziggy from earlier this year
Had a similar thing with some guy's mom email me all the time (sometimes with really personal info.) I had to figure out who he was, track down an id I could contact him at and then tell him what was going on. He was grateful and got her to fix her address book though.
One gmail id I have is a common phrase so I get tons of junk there for people that put it in as a throwaway email on websites. My main id is my first name at gmail, so I get a ton of someone else's recovery emails, phone bills, bank statements, etc. constantly.
With so many pictures, I guess you're a Repeater of Griffins.
It's just fishy.

Oh the card part I know of. Well... had forgotten about it until just now 😂
Did SJC librarians say that to you? I never had that experience.

A common misconception in the medical field is that transplantation for sickle cell disease [...] can result in severe graft-versus-host disease and high mortality, which this trial and other studies have shown aren’t true, says study co-author Robert Brodsky
Yeah, and the bone marrow transplant may be cheaper too.
Probably more than you wanted to know, sorry 😂
It's from Sanskrit and used to refer to a "teacher." But has evolved into many uses. To mean "expert" is more modern. Bit like "pundit" which also comes from Sanskrit for "scholar" or "learned person"
In the city I grew up in and in the local language, guru is used slangily like "man" or "bro" 😁
It's a not uncommon first name in India. More common as a title though.
NEW: Transportation industry money has been pouring into the congressional campaign of Michael Alfonso, a 26-year-old political unknown from Wisconsin.
His father-in-law happens to be Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy.
this is a very bold thing to say -- women can't do this -- about a technology that requires the ability to issue detailed natural language instructions to an immensely powerful but childlike simpleton
Aww! I don't remember how I learned, but it is a hard skill to teach!
Always found the kid going "maybe some day I can whistle?" real cute!
