If you try to deflect - through misplaced humour, or snark - your writing will come across as shallow and insincere. reply: I'm not "a Writer" but in life I've found what got me in trouble most was being honest, answering truthfully. I noticed those who got by dissimulated, obfuscated, changed subjects, or downright lied. I learned not to lie outright but to play the social hypocrisy, what Edward Pearce called the =>2 Joanne: If you're not a writer, perhaps my writing advice doesn't apply to you.
