Today the 2nd and fourth items arrived 🙂. All for my OH, he gets through walking/working boots VERY quickly.

You can't enjoy a good retirement gardening unless you have happy dry feet 🙂

🤔Now, to kidnap the old boots and take them to be resoled 🤫

Quakers among charities warning new regulator powers could stifle advocacy Exclusive: Civil society groups sign letter urging ministers to consult on Charity Commission measures meant to tackle extremism

Banning crypto and foreign donations is probably all you really need to do! because most of these organisations use 🇬🇧£ only.

I don't be stupid and leave us open to far left or far right authoritarian rule without means to protest!

Of the four items I recently ordered online, the fish food pellets for the goldfish in the pond at our Quaker MH from @PetsatHome is going to arrive 1st🙂. 🤔 Matthew 20:16 “So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”. I'm finding that just a tad weird!

Amazingly relieved it's not dementia just a common cold virus + age!

😢When you are older you are just a bundle of symptoms!

Working out which set belong to which affliction is HARD. I don't envy doctors 🫪

Now THIS is where AI SHOULD be helping us! Better diagnosis when you have > 1 health issue!

If you are over 60 you start worrying about dementia particularly Alzheimer's... While helping someone we chatted about RSV & how it was bad if toddlers & babies caught it. This prompted me to look it up & NHS says, sweating & ..... "confusion in older adults"😯. EXACTLY the symptoms of her cold!

🧵/3 I send her copies of anything I buy on line to her Gmail & ask to be paid by cheque so I can write what I buy for her on the back of the cheque stub. It's a pain to go to the bank but at least I'm covered. She does throw the receipts away 😢

🧵/2 because she wants me to do more. I can see when there's money involved that it becomes easy to accuse people of theft even if they haven't taken anything! Also explains multiple bars of soap and other kinds of hoarding. If you can't tidy you forget where you put stuff😫

I'm helping someone who helped a neighbour of mine who had motor neurone disease. Last year she suffered a stroke. I took her to do shopping etc. Now housebound, due to viruses & loss of balance. BOY is she anxious! 😫 AND this is causing her to be forgetful! Now I 😫🧵

Now there are so many online meetings at work & community etc. Then those podcasts where you can ask your question and my lighting is appalling. It doesn't help that the window is to my right. I've ordered this online. 🙏 It does the job 🤞

In Hitchin Quaker Meeting house Peace Garden/burial ground there may be a few primroses ....

😢my photo doesn't do it justice. People are even going out of their way to take a look. All we do is stop the cowparsley & dandelion invasion. These spread themselves naturally.

It's Easter, it feels as if the whole world is mentally & spiritually searching for a modern day Jesus to come and save them.

All we are allowed by social media to see are the charlatans, chancers, washed up actors, liars, cheats & dirty money grabbers!

Perhaps it was ever so....

‘Raise our heads and resist’: how Europe’s civil society is fighting back against the far right Rightwing parties are using parliamentary queries, legal traps and policing to target NGOs and stifle dissent

This frames the recent police action at Westminster Meeting House in a whole new way! As well as the arresting of people carrying cardboard signs with certain words written on them.

Is our government quietly doing the bidding of the mighty USA!

Today I was 1 of eight ringers for a wedding 🙂♥️ ringing for weddings. The ringing platform at the back of St. Marty's #Hitchin has a view of most of the church. There are always lovely flowers too.

Then I took a neighbour's Rollator Walker to the repair Cafe. So that's fixed. 👍

China has been preparing for a global energy crisis for years. It is paying off now As other Asian economies race to conserve energy, China has huge reserves of oil and gas as well as alternative energy sources like wind and solar

All China has to do to rule the world is to sit tight and mind it's own business until everyone else has exhausted their treasure fighting wars. Classic!

🙄 I've been helping someone who is having trouble getting about. The trouble is they talk incessantly😫

It drives me slightly round the bend & seriously trys my patience 😩

Now I need to calm down and get some peace & quiet. Luckily, my OH is a man of few words who makes tea☕♥️

I was finding this book harder to read than most because of the font/font size used to print it. So I compared it with an old 60 year old book and consulted my OH. YES it IS more difficult to read! Aesthetics are sometimes taken too far!

We visited Gibraltar twice in February and spent most of it in the botanical garden when it was warm and sunny reading.

I went through a rock collecting phase while on holiday in Scotland at around the same age.

I was humoured by some geology students staying in the same B&B who I used to ask about my latest find. They allowed me to share their home cooked haggis😋

At school aged about 10 - 11 we were taught traditional songs one of which was the ditty about George Fox the best known of the Quaker founders.

I do wish I had tried a Quaker Meeting then. I'm sure I would have been allowed to cycle to the nearest to attend if I had asked my parents.

I was checking our local Quaker history for a reference to a lady who was often quoted. We have buried the importance of the lady of the house as a master of man management, organisation, letter writing, record keeping etc.

It's interesting that my reply to the same post on Lucy Worsley's twitter(x) account has received the highest response I have EVER had to anything!
