"Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional...

Browsing this company's website and the only way I can describe what I'm seeing is imagine a school shooter was a management consultant
You have to write through the terrible.
Years ago @mikeduncan.bsky.social told me "you can rewrite shit but you can't rewrite nothing" and it's made every draft easier since.
we're back for day two. game continues to be a hit with everyone. wish I had copies to sell I'd have sold so many omg
all pics show people playing mass effect the board game
As someone who is not much of a board gamer and has Tumblr osmosis levels of Mass Effect knowledge - I had SO MUCH FUN. Wrex nearly got to kill four mobs in a single turn.
Purely from a design standpoint, it’s impressive how much material and structure they managed to fit in the one box.
A Mass Effect mission board with two player figures (male Shepard and Wrex) and a few enemy counters. The mission boss has been defeated. The game master is reading from the plot book.
Got to play a demo of the Mass Effect bg today with none other than @ithayla.bsky.social himself, heheh

“Take a moment to think before you dive in. That’s the best advice for Google Photos users, as the company confirms its latest update can scan all your photos to “use actual images of you and your loved ones” in AI image generation.”

If you wanna inject some positivity into this world, my request to you is:
If you like a creative person (artist, musician, craftsperson, literally anything), tell them you like their stuff. Doesn't have to be me, in fact I'd prefer it if it wasn't, but you'll make their day, I promise.
a play in three acts
There is something way too on the nose about naming your stealing with out credit bot after Rosalind Franklin, who infamous had her work stolen and go uncredited for decades. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosalin...
Ok back to cursing and swearing and snarking in the cold darkness of my lair, have fun with the new Ultraman
Couldn’t find the exact gif I wanted, but I saw the 60th anniversary announcements and was like. Welp. We got there, Hikari, you sonuvabitch (affectionate)
ICYMI I’m teaching a workshop on weird and wondrous poetry with a queer & alternate futures focus in Edinburgh at Cymera! Pls come along
So of course you have a combustible situation: An AI industry promising to eliminate jobs (or worse), a generation with withering opportunities, and an attack by ascendent oligarchy on an already barely-functioning democracy. What do you think is going to happen?
Katamari Damacy-style game where you stagger around a large grocery store collecting more and more items you have to awkwardly position about your body because like a fool you thought you didn’t need a cart.
(Once I get to 10k followers, I want to do a recommendationopalooza!)
Orban achieved a level of authoritarian consolidation unthinkable here and they still successfully got rid of him. Never let the doomers have the final say.
even if he’s not a literal sexual predator, look twice at an Industry Guy who surrounds himself with younger women and otherwise Diverse talent only while he can Champion them — yet his coworkers and peers are all just people like himself
a screenshot of an instagram post by user astro_christina, showing the moon in space, mostly dark but with light behind it and on a little crescent of it on the left-hand side. text reads "The most ominous thing I've ever loved. It wasn't just an eclipse with the Sun hidden behind the Moon...we could also see earthshine, the Sun's light reflecting off Earth, wrapping the Moon in a soft, borrowed glow."
Unrelatedly -- I love that Christina Koch put this up on her social media and I'm like "That is a BANGER short story title and/or first line of a poem (or last line of a poem)"
What's the most ominous thing you've ever loved?
I know the world is on fire but please take a few minutes to look at the photos of the moon from yesterday. A gallery of some of the most astounding pictures ever taken. Here's one with Venus on the left

“…You are the stream and the moon.
You need starve nothing that is yourself.”
This whiplash where the president terrifies the world for a few days with unhinged threats and then says “never mind” and then there’s this implication that anyone scared of his unhinged threats was overreacting is very domestic abuse but make it a country.
Status report, "Shilling For Heating Oil [RE-REDUX]:" Worried re: what may happen to oil prices tomorrow, am desperately hoping to fill the house's tank today. Have just 3 hours to do it. Want to assist? Grab 9 #ebooks about young #wizards, cheapish! (Not in the UK, sorry.) bit.ly/YWNMESET (1/2)

Listen, the world is full of so many horrors--things out of our direct control. We do what we can, as we can. But there's no magick button labeled Fix This Now.
It's important to reach toward joy. Take your meds. Have a snack. Make plans. Laugh. Look at the damn moon.
Someone with the handle @velocity69.bsky.social is sharing a video with the caption:
"The highest quality video of the moon was just released…
so beautiful
* Artemis II"
It's gone viral, but it's not from Artemis II. If you've shared it, you might want to un-share.
