Following up on this thread. Any chance for the option to include all replies in the following feed and in custom lists?

Unfortunately the change happened in 2024 and no additional customizations have been added, as far as I can tell bsky.app/profile/mick...
Not sure how much use this would get (at least Madison-->Milwaukee) given that you still mostly need a car in Milwaukee
But I'd strongly consider a train that goes straight to MKE if there's a direct flight from MKE and not from Madison
Huh I was not aware that Madison-Milwaukee passenger train service might still happen captimes.com/news/governm...
Peak tornado season is summer, not spring?
I might be mistaken, but is there still no way to show replies in the following feed or in a custom list? Checking the box doesn't seem to do it
What I mean is: someone I follow replies to someone I do not follow, and that exchange shows up in my following feed
All good, worth a try. It's kind of representative of the inadequacy of bluesky (at least for now) as a replacement of pre-2023 twitter
There /is/ one meteorologist on here from elsewhere in WI, which is better than nothing
Btw we had a great test case on Friday with tons of weather alerts in WI, and unfortunately that bot didn't work out well for me. Tons of alerts about areas that were not my county
A quick brainstorm bsky.app/profile/mick...
ER holds up super well, 30 years on
I discovered that there's a grokipedia page on me, which has a "Death and Legacy" section. Mercifully, the section is empty
Maybe I am using the wrong feeds or something, but bluesky does not make it easy to actually keep up with posts from people I follow unless I happen to be online at the exact same time as when they are posting
I also think the 'stochastic parrot' pejorative was interesting (haven't heard it much lately).
If a stochastic parrot can solve complex problems, write software, etc., it's an impressive parrot indeed. And the emergent behavior is fascinating

Frank Lloyd Wright's proposed Arizona State Capitol. I wish we had built more such things, or would build more of them today.
They could even play hardball and nominate and confirm in advance...
If the senate flips in November, aren't they likely to change their minds in a hurry?
Been getting nonstop spam calls for the last ~24 hrs to my cell (on Verizon)
Did their spam filter break or something?
Got caught in a tornado on my drive home from FermiLab. Scary.
Wow. Glad you are okay
Tornado sirens number 6? this week
Say what now
I still kind of feel that a local meteorologist is nice, who delivers info specific to your city
But yeah this gets me most of the way there. Thank you!
there are bots that someone put together based on the nooa stations per geographic region. I follow @day.nws-bot.us which covers Dayton and Columbus OH. There should be one for your area.
Found it. Better than nothing! Thanks bsky.app/profile/did:...
I'm wondering what the numbers will look like when (if, I guess) they announce a bunch of big center awards that are pending
But I'm much more concerned than I was a few weeks ago. They don't seem to be ramping up awards
Derek once again equivocating on anti-amyloid antibodies as an Alzheimer's therapy:
"I do not see why these antibodies should be on the market."
"Do something else! For God's sake, do something else."

As is I typically go to channel3000 weather alerts, but would be nice to have something in the feed www.channel3000.com/weather/aler...
Is there a meteorologist or weather center covering Madison, WI, posting on bluesky?
I used to follow a couple on Twitter back in the day, who would post tornado watches/warnings, etc, and it was a useful way to get weather info quickly
I'm used to it by now, but every time I have to tell someone not from around here the distinction between a watch and a warning ("tornado warning", "flood watch", etc), it's clear that this is bad terminology
It is not obvious to people that "warning" is more severe than "watch"
