Feeding the future: The battle for fresh, local food in Scottish schools WHEN I was a wee lass, I loved school dinners. The tasty aromas which wafted through the corridors offered welcome punctuation to a day stuck

“Schools, hospitals, prisons have to be built with kitchens. We need schools to feed our kids healthy food but we also need to teach children what healthy food is and what good food tastes like.”

By-Election Preview: Stirling East (Stirling) 30th of October 2025 As Labour are floundering and the SNP won a by-election here last year, the SNP seem likely favourites. A win would give them every councillor in the ward, and potentially flip the administration; …

By-election today for the Stirling East ward. Given the SNP won a by-election here in December, and Labour are in a much worse position, I'm inclined towards the SNP being likely winners, giving them every seat in the ward if so. Would sort of defeat the point of PR!

With this system the PR element works to it’s max at the full cycle election every 5 years when all seats are contested. By-elections are sometimes a law unto themselves and making sure it’s a PR result is low in voters priorities.

It is democracy that lost in Hamilton It’s Saturday, some good bird watching awaits if and when the rain stops, and because I was busy all day yesterday, I did not talk about the Hamilton by-election result. This was the full result: ...

“Labour won it. Why? In large part because the SNP ran a poor campaign with a candidate with a track record of losing, who the leadership keep endorsing, and with a party leadership that does not inspire much confidence.” Spot on…read more detail here ⬇️

Take positive action with the #keepScotlandtheBrand direct action campaign.

Most definitely not about boycotts, which just hurt people in our communities, but about our market share, our global reputation for quality.

@thrivescot.bsky.social may be interested to know that the oil tanker Maran Antares is now unloading Scotland’s oil in China (Ningbo) having travelled almost half way around the globe. Surely an economic case to have it refined at Grangemouth just 15 miles up the Forth? #ScotlandsOil #Independence

As Scotland continues to pursue its right to self determination , Scots were told prior to the 2014 Referendum that oil was almost finished .It appears that too was a lie #ScottishIndependence

Scotland is one of the most energy-rich countries in Europe with over 97% of our gross electricity consumption coming from renewables and yet, under the "strong and stable", "broad shoulders" of the union, we're facing the prospect of our pensioners freezing.

King Charles inherited £650m tax free, gets £125m a year tax free from the tax payer and has an estate worth £22bn that’s never taxed.

But he still needed a 45% pay rise.

Like if he needs a pay cut.

IT’S THE ECONOMY STUPID. They’re getting the message and #Indy is back on the agenda. Our independence should not be predicated on Labour’s failure in government but by building our own resilient, prosperous economy @financialtimes.com

The UK has had 4 General Elections since 2014. People are allowed to change their mind and be asked how they want to be governed. Independence support at 56% today - now seems like a good time.

The Referendum was 2014 not 2015. You quoted 2015, your mistake!

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Scotland needs to take Oil, Water, Fish Wind, Whisky and Tourism and leave.

We have a ridiculously bigger share of UK Resources.

Independent Scotland will be one of the Richest Countries in Europe.

Time to face facts.
