On a much brighter note, I'm going to Scotiacon and Confuzzled in 2024, both in the main hotel for a change. Having something to look forward to will certainly help my mental state. Coupled with Animalz in December and regular furmeets in-between, living does seem acceptable right now...

A friend was offered £1700 for the same car at his address with under a year's driving experience. In Scotland it's under £1k with little no-claims. Still doesn't explain why an EV6 is half the price to insure here, even though it's a more expensive vehicle and more scarce.

After some research, it seems that because I live in an active warzone (Openshaw, Manchester) my premiums are 4x that of other areas, even though my car is nearly impossible to steal without lifting it. Guess I'm looking to move up a hill away from civilization!

Note that this is fully comp, with 15 years no claims, £1k voluntary excess, SDPC for 10k miles. The industry needs proper regulation and transparency, it's just black box numberwang right now!

Just been looking at insurance renewal for my M3 AWD, and I think I'm going to have to consider a different car next year if trends continue. Scammers want over £2k minimum, 3k for Admiral. It was 1.4k this year. Only 1.5k for an EV6 top spec and that's a more expensive car! UK insurance is a joke!
