Bendigo's bid in the www.vic.gov.au/victorian-wo... was successful. Barbara Rae - the captain of the winning team and highest scorer from my book Bowl the Maidens Over will be commemorated with a sculpture.
My book brought this story to life and Barbara is finally being recognised.

This really is the new and improved [redacted] platform.
I turned right off posting after [redacted]so have to pick up my stride!
I write history, spec fic and horror, and write and edit for work. I also make things.

I was in Bendigo the other day. The council have applied for funding to commemorate Barbara Rae with a monument to sit at the QE Oval. We will find out in February if the application was successful. It’s a beautiful country town.

Alison, thanks so much for the share! If it wasn't for the pioneering women in 1874, maybe we wouldn't have the women's Ashes today. Glad you're enjoying the story!
