Maybe it's being British but during times of great uncertainty, corruption and 'big' news, I tend to think 'well it's a good time to be a comedian at least'

yes, exactly this!
The equivalent of a 'whose cat is this' or 'those horses in that field need water' post on a local Facebook group
In consulting, there's a difference between talking the talk, walking the walk, and having the receipts.
For example, you tell people what works in communities, help them to build a better community, and show them from your own experience what good looks like and why.
Not everyone can do it all.
Who's doing this? My money's on Petal Huffington from the Gilmore Girls S5 E1 who is described as being obsessed with the police blotter, a habit Emily notes is "like heroin to her."
Seriously though, very similar to here in the UK in safer and slightly more affluent parts of the UK
It's always fun when Google Photos pings a reminder with 'Has it really been 6 years?' and it's a picture of my Gousto meal. LOL.
Farage's involvement with Trump and his championing of the War in Iran has already damaged his campaign, coupled with their leader in Wales being convicted after discovery of being a Russian asset and that Reform-run councils are doing terribly. The wheels are coming off...
The end of Viktor Orbán’s autocratic regime is a victory not just for Hungary, but for people who value democracy around the world. Congratulations to Tisza, to incoming leader Péter Magyar, and to Hungarians everywhere.
Orban has conceded, but the path to a better democracy, more impartial mediation and fairer judicial system is going to take time.
Sending celebrations, and solidarity to the Hungarian people. We're cheering you on 🇭🇺❤️🇬🇧
If you're not familiar with the song, IMO it's one of the greatest remixes of all time

Sad to hear that Asha Bhosle - the Bollywood singer named in 'Brimful of Asha' - has died. That song immortalised her cultural influence outside of India.
The one who kept the dream alive. RIP. ❤️🎶

If I recall correctly, this is Hosok Ter aka Heroes Square in Budapest. It's a large square flanked by two museums and it's a way away from the Parliament area
A lot of people gathering here in a place I believe has historical significance for the Magyar (Hungarians)
Sending solidarity ❤️🇬🇧

Folks, if you use Bluesky to send me unsolicited fundraising asks because I work with nonprofits, I will mute you. And if you keep doing it, I'll report you.
Post about fundraising by all means. But tagging people you don't know who have no connection to your cause is counterproductive.
Agreed. I think it's a slightly different skill set though but lots of overlap. I didn't mention it as I'm only specifically offering and sharing insight for online community building and would want people to find more suitable mentors (People in Events for example)
Excellent campaign from @carers-uk.bsky.social - unpaid carers save the public sector MILLIONS and they deserve to be financially supported because they've often given up employment in order to care for others.
You're not alone. 👋

Oh, also would help to clarify this is open to UK-based candidates with the right to work in the UK.
But if you're working in similar organisations across the world, do get in touch! I'd love to hear from you (and potentially help to connect community builders for health peer support globally)
There really is an art in getting a genuinely brand-appropriate and amusing April Fools Joke, isn't there?
Do we have any tags or feeds for UK charities or UK charity jobseeking?

If you haven't seen this glorious analysis of the 9 types of men who pop up to school women on anything particularly harassment and sexual misconduct, here you go...
Seems like Apple has totally botched introducing age verification.
My mum has just updated her phone and suddenly needs to verify her age. She doesn't have a credit card. She doesn't drive, so has no driver's licence. There are literally no other options for her to verify her age.
And I think this ultimately comes down to not starting with the edge or stress cases when testing and rolling out a new system. The assumption that everyone has digital ID and is savvy or capable enough to arrange it comes from a place of privilege.
It's a widespread problem from what I've read online. I wonder if they'll have to verify age through verified information held by banks where there are linked debit/credit cards, or accept an alternative (but facial age recognition tools are patchy at best)
There's a dotted line between the 'people who have had enough of experts' trend and the populist-wrapped new elite who privately enjoy high culture, performatively appear to be 'of the people' and are pushing to deregulate and roll back progress
(Brexit in the UK is a perfect example of this)
