It’s Launch Day, and I’m on a mission to support the quiet leaders who have been told they’re "too quiet" to lead.

As ever, I live my life by the mantra 'I take all things as I find them; everyone is free to do the same'.
I hold many people, places, things and ideas in high regard that others don't.
That is ok.
You taught me about 'best bets' and in my view, I cant make ANY bet if I dont read as much as I can!

Right this one is important people. Self care isn’t all massages and mindfulness colouring. The basics matter. Eating, drinking, peeing & sleeping aren’t negotiables.

I think society has lost its mind a little bit - somehow we’ve accepted the view that mistakes are unacceptable and headteachers are caught in this idiom of scrutiny and complaint.
People are human, they make mistakes - most of the time we should be a bit forgiving and expect them to learn from that

The decline in job advertisements should not be mistaken for an improvement in staffing. Schools are advertising less, but teachers do not report feeling better staffed.

Stricter home schooling rules prompt warnings about overstretched councils: Points of View | Teachers Talk Radio Stricter home schooling rules are on the way but are councils anywhere near ready? This week on Points of View, we unpack the government’s plans to introduce a national register of home-educated children and tighter oversight of families. Supporters say it’s about safeguarding vulnerable children and preventing tragedies. Critics warn it risks intrusive state overreach and puts impossible pressure on already overstretched local authorities. With rising numbers of children leaving schools - many linked to SEND pressures and mental health concerns, we ask: Are schools failing too many children? Is home education becoming a necessity, not a choice? Can councils realistically monitor thousands more families? And where should the balance lie between parental rights and child protection? On the panel: Tom Rogers, Lucy Trimnell and Carl Smith.

Government must address chronic shortage of Educational Psychologists as provision gap leaves some pupils 20 times less likely to get support.

Pause before you let someone’s words shape how you feel

If you wouldn’t trust their guidance, why let their judgment carry weight?

I am very impressed with the Southport Inquiry report. It pulls no punches and calls out the elephants in the room.

Everyone passed the buck and no one took responsibility.
