@gunnerblog.bsky.social Ooff!! I know you aren’t a huge stats guy, but given your AV take today I think you should take a little time to understand how it works.

Virtually all xG stats are derived from shots. More shots = more xG. So AV out pacing xG in no way suggests a lot of shots.

@espn.com please fire whoever is commentating the Arsenal Pompey game. They are awful. Martinelli scores a great goal and misses one that is not easy, and they act like Martinelli is having a bad game.

At this point I feel obligated to assume City will win the next one.

Honestly have a hard time believing Chelsea will do much to Man City. I don’t think this is a new manager bounce type of situation.

I know Chelsea have stepped up for big games but I have a hard time seeing it this time with a shit defense against a great attack.

It's blatant violent conduct.

Nothing in the rules says for it to be a red it has to be against an opponent.

It's rare for it to not be against an opponent, but this isn't a first.

@poznaninmypants.bsky.social I get that haaland is the best striker but I considered big gabby his match defensively. This showed different.

Haaland put his head down and bursted forward. Clearly showing extra effort. Gabby ran back but was watching Rinders. Not looking to close off Haaland

@poznaninmypants.bsky.social you don’t appear to be on here often so who knows if you’ll see this. I think you’re kind of soft Big Gabby for the Man City goal. My issue isn’t that he went forward. It’s that he didn’t get back to cover Haaland.

Pretty good home leg though.

Not a great performance but a win away at Old Trafford on the first game of the season is pretty sweet.

That said we have two weeks to get our shit together. With a performance like that I doubt we would come away with a result at anfield let alone a win.

You’re basing your logic on past behavior which I would agree with if past behavior holds true. But you’ve also said how this season seems different. That they are going win now.

Regarding Eze and “balancing the squad”: I’ve heard you and gunnerblog.bsky.social bemoan not having options off the bench for years, but here you are hedging your bet and arguing against it. You say it’s logical but you aren’t examining the assumption in your logic.

@arsenalvisionpodcast.com Are we going to get our first Schadenfreude transfer daily?

Second, yes there is a finite amount of minutes, and some one is going to lose out when a new player is signed. That doesn’t mean you don’t make the signing because it will hurt Leo’s minute. We kept Leno and Ramsdale on the bench for a year. If Eze is the answer don’t wait. Go get him.

First define “elite”. That’s so subjective. No you can’t have 22 potential starters and keep everyone happy. But if you think you’re going to compete across 4 competitions and potentially 67 games without 22+ players you’re out of your mind. Are you ok throwing the fa cup like Liverpool?

Does having a player in your squad mean you have to play that player a 1000 minutes?

Siting all players at other teams that had 1000 minutes is a false equivalence. I guarantee you all of those teams had other players. Plus Eze , Kia & Ethan will get minutes in midfield

That's obviously a ton of money, but we are also better off than we were two years ago. I don't think another 65ish on top of that for Eze is out of the question. Not guaranteed by any means, but it does seem plausible to me.

I don't even think the finances really block it. Our Net spend last year was very small. And lots of big wages have come off the books. Two summers ago we spent 208m, This year, we are currently at 208m assuming Gyok and Masquera get across the line for the reported amounts..

9 months ago 0 0 1 0

And what we missed last year was depth and firepower.

We've had several reports from big ITKs that say Eze is not blocked by Madueke, but a lot of people seem to find it hard to believe. But if we are really going for depth and firepower, its not hard to believe IMO.

I'm not naïve enough to think that just because someone said it on the internet that it will happen, but this summer does feel different than prior transfer windows.

But you've said it your self, that our transfer windows have felt like reactions to the prior season.

You (and others) have said that we are not signing Eze without Leo or Martinelli going. Why do you say this?

I'm assuming its some level of hindsight bias.

I have a bad feeling about this. Announcers talking crap about United before the game feels like we are being set up for a fall. #MNUARS

@arsenalvisionpodcast.com has your opinion of Morino changed a little? #GOYG

I think he’s given up. Absolutely nothing in that interview. He’s so down from the anger that he had just a couple games ago.

And no Ange you didn’t create the chances to win.
