Great line up, Section 25 were on the same night as Joy Division, Killing Joke, later in the year for me, in Leeds.
46 years ago, to almost the minute, when I watched Ian Curtis being carried off stage, at The Rainbow Theatre, London.
🐢 in the bag. #giglife
23deg, slight breeze. 🌞
Reminiscing about the golden years, when the poll tax was £40/50 a month.
Somebody’s told him Orban has sent an aircraft carrier to the Gulf.
I’ve found the bit about the Two Tone tour, I think a bit of artistic license has been used on that story. 😄
Yeah, it’s about time I read another one, I shall put that on my to do list. 👍
Just the one, The Motel Life.
Ouch Monkeys 😍
Actually it’s the fifth time, I forgot I’ve seen them twice at the Oran Mor, and even got the set list. First time was the Colfax tour.
Mrs Mike, ain’t going, she only goes to the odd gig. My mates might be with me, depends if they can be arsed to get tickets. It will be the fourth time seeing The Delines, love them.
No ticket for the Cabs. Are the Debating Chambers near the QMU, Mairi?
Yes, The Debating Chambers, where ever that is? 😀
His banter is great. 😀
Back in Carlisle in June.
Prolapse and Ulrika Spacek are great.
Five gigs booked this week.
Buffalo Tom 🎶
The Delines 🎵
A Certain Ratio 🎼
Friends Again 🎶
The Daisychain Connection 🎼
Hi Rich, here’s my top 5 #5DebutAlbums8589
1. The Jesus and Mary Chain - Psychocandy
2. Martin Stephenson & the Daintees - Boat To Bolivia
3. The Pixies - Surfer Rosa
4. Del Amitri - s/t
5. Win - Uh! Tears Baby (A Trash Icon)
I’m sure it will be. I’m wondering if Carlisle will get a mention as the 1st date they joined the Two Tone tour, when Madness left the tour.
Also when out, I came across a few photos in the gardens of Tullie Museum. From 1978/79 in Carlisle, shame there isn’t a proper exhibition.
Quick visit to see friends for coffee, and you spot this in the bookshop window. 🖤
I was getting on a bit, 21 at the time. 😀
A lot of folk would agree with you John. Amazing gig.
Where’s the Time Machine.
45 years ago, and one of the best gigs I ever went to.
A Certain Ratio gig booked. 😍
When your in that kinda mood, when a £43 gig ticket has, booking fee, service charge and handling charge, bringing it to £53. So it’s a no from me.
