Today is the 91st anniversary of the opening of Queensway, the first Mersey road tunnel.
On the 18th July 1934, King George V and Queen Mary were watched by over 200,000 spectators as they officially declared the tunnel open

Generations of my family worked on the River Mersey. My great-grandad, grandad, and dad all earned their living there. I went into IT, but today, I joined them! Had the pleasure of live-guiding today's Ferry Cruise on Snowdrop (the Razzle Dazzle Ferry).

On May 12th 2000, the gates of @strawberryfield were stolen.
They were sold to a scrap merchant who returned them to The Salvation Army upon realising their significance
The original gates are now on display in the grounds, with replica gates at the entrance

I'm currently in North West Scotland
On the afternoon of 30th March 1967 at 4 Chelsea Manor Studios, the Beatles joined a collage that had been constructed over 8 days by Peter Blake and his wife and the preliminary photos for the Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band cover were taken.
And it's started...
