May 18,1980, a beautiful Sunday morning. I looked up after hearing a noise, and this beautiful mountain was erupting. I can still remember the fascination I felt watching. The loss of 57 lives was a tragedy, but how many people get to witness this in their own backyard.

I lost my 21 year old Willow last night. She belonged to my husband. She loved to sleep on his chest. A rescue we got 15 years ago.
