Go Cougs! Working out the vocals for some starting lineups for a big WCC hoops matchup between WSU & Portland. #publicaddress
The CFP bracket has:
-4 power conference champs (guaranteed spots)
-The top G5 team (guaranteed)
-4 teams that were in their power conference title games
-The only 3 remaining teams that went 11-1/10-2 in the Big 10/SEC.
Of all the scenarios, this was the least controversial.
OTD in Coug football history - Nov. 22, 1997: Roses at Husky Stadium.
Ryan Leaf, Chris Jackson, Michael Black & the No. 11 Cougs went into Husky Stadium as underdogs and beat No. 16 UW 41-35, clinching WSU’s first Rose Bowl in 67 years.
Happy Snow Bowl anniversary to all who celebrate!
32 years ago today, Bledose-to-Bobo (in the snow snow) became one of the most iconic plays in WSU history. Fans have seen it on the video board almost every home game for decades. #GoCougs
Nov. 19, 2005 - Down by 3 with 90 seconds to go, Husky-killer Alex Brink finds Trandon Harvey for a 39-yard TD, the last of four 2nd half lead changes, which would hold for a 26-22 WSU win. Jerome Harrison had 207 rushing yards and a TD.
Nov. 19, 1994 - The Chad Davis-led Cougs beat the 18th-ranked Huskies 23-6. WSU scored 3 first-half TDs, and the “Palouse Posse” allowed just 197 yds and a lone, opening drive score by UW. WSU would go on to beat Baylor in the Alamo Bowl.
Nov. 19, 1988 - Timm Rosenbach ran it in on a 4th qtr 4th & 2, as WSU’s defense held the final 9 minutes to win, 32-31. UW had led by 12 at halftime. The WSU win knocked UW out of bowl contention, the only missed bowl game in the final 14 years of Don James’ tenure at UW.
Nov. 19, 1983 - WSU took down the No. 15 Huskies on a windy day in Seattle. Kerry Porter rushed for 169 yards & Richard Calvin scored 2 TDs, denying UW a Rose Bowl berth for the 2nd year in a row.
(Yes, this was 1983, despite 1940 video quality)
Ok Coug fans, I’ve been enjoying some “On this date in Coug football history” lately, and I’m coming with a 4-parter today.
Did you know WSU has won the last four November 19th Apple Cups? (Why would you know that?)
Let’s a take a trip down memory lane…
Happy Hall of Fame tracking season to all those who celebrate!
I always like the “kickers are like milk” analogy. The expiration date isn’t as precise as the smell test. You might get a couple more drinks out of it, but its quality won’t improve.
Going to need a win from the Seahawks today to cure the pains from the WSU loss.
Bad news is that they’re playing the 49ers, to whom they’ve lost 6 straight by an average of 15 points.
Exclusive video of Mike Tyson’s trainers giving him a pre-match pep talk. #Hurtinbombs
There are 8 FBS teams with:
-8+ wins
-Multiple power conf. wins
-Zero losses outside of current the Top 25
-A 100+ scoring differential
-A Top-25 Strength of Record
-No remaining games against FCS opponents
Six of them make up the CFP Top 6.
And there are two others…
Well apparently not.
People on here like cat pics? ‘Cause here are a couple of cat pics.
Lmao Steph shaking his head after this Klay three
Saturday (11/16) Coug rooting guide:
9a PT - Pitt (vs. Clemson)
9a - Utah (@ No. Colorado)
12:30p - Virginia (@ Notre Dame)
12:30p - BC (vs. SMU)
4p - Boise State (@ SJSU)
4p - ASU (vs. Kansas St)
4:30p - Tennessee (vs. Georgia)
4:45p - NMSU (vs. No. Texas A&M)
6:30p - #GoCougs
The Cougs passed the first “3-loss SEC team” test with LSU falling to 22. Next test would be Georgia losing to Tennessee (we want that). Could use some help from old Pac-12 teams this week (Utah, ASU). Unfortunately, not many potential stumbling blocks for teams ahead of them.
There they are - Cougs at No. 18 in the CFP Rankings, up 3 spots from a week ago. Going to get tighter up top, but a good can from the first to the second ranking. #GoCougs
Good morning and #GoCougs!
