Makes me long for the simpler times of The War on Christmas.
Listening to @npr.org headlines on the weekends, I may not find out what's happening with the genocide in Gaza or ethnic cleansing in The West Bank, but I'll definitely hear what movies are leading in ticket sales at the box office.
I was today years old when I saw "Whiskey Pete." Thank you 🤣
I've thought of how his undisciplined, arrogant/ignorant and undisciplined policy toward Iran reminds me of his first term's moves in relation to North Korea. He (and his underlings/sycophants) seem to have no sense/vision of how to actually achieve anything substantive.
Painting of Jesus holding a shining heart. This is the famous painting by Pompeo Batoni (1708-1787).
This transplant cardiologist really should be wearing gloves and a surgical mask for Christ's sake!
"Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything."

Photoshopped image of Caravaggio's painting "The Taking of Christ" where instead of Judas kissing Christ to betray him, it is Trump kissing him.
Apologies to Caravaggio. www.nationalgallery.ie/art-and-arti...
Keep him away from the Pope.
And then, sit with the horror of what Israel (with US weaponry and support) has done to Lebanon since March 2:
"Lebanon’s Health Ministry says at least 2,020 people have been killed and 6,436 wounded in Israeli strikes across the country since March 2." (from Al Jazeera, 4-11-26)
apnews.com/article/isra...
Thinking about this re 9/11 in the US. Lebanon's population is about 5.8 million vs. US 281 million (in 2001), so US 48X bigger. Given that, Israels' slaughter of 300+ people in Lebanon in one day, is (proportionally) like 300 x 48 = 14,400. That's literally terrorism.
Imagine if instead of JD, the Iranians had insisted on John Kerry being the only one they'd negotiate with.

I get that headlines can't convey all the nuances of something, but PLEASE stop using words like "the world" (here) or "we" (other articles). How about "many world leaders"? Or "most European/American leaders." Much of the world protested, petitioned, begged for it to end, including most countries.

Saw that on @democracynow.org this morning. Story starts at the 8:12 mark. www.democracynow.org/shows/2026/4/8

I appreciate @newversenews.bsky.social for publishing "Bridges" this morning. So much is at risk from the rotten souls running our country. Sigh.
"The world survives into another day"

That's clearly false.
Screenshot of headline from The Guardian that reads: "Vance accuses EU of ‘foreign interference’ in upcoming Hungarian election while endorsing Orbán" followed by smaller print text "US vice-president claims ‘the bureaucrats in Brussels have tried to destroy the economy of Hungary’"
Onion-worthy: www.theguardian.com/world/live/2...
YES, that's Jacobin featuring an article taking one of their writers to task for being to pro-Kremlin. You don't find such harshly critical articles in a magazine that is simply "championing" Russian imperialism. My point is that such broad brush dismissals are sloppy.
Just saw that, too, and recalled the Easter story of Jesus taking a break from bombing the crap out of people so he could get killed on the cross, and then coming back to life so he could ascend into the heavens in another F-15 and get back to bombing the crap out of more civilians.
@jacobinmag.bsky.social Figured you folks might be interested in this smear of your writers coming from @nicholasgrossman.bsky.social
This is an actual post. This is not funny. This is beyond desperate. This is a deeply unwell man who doesn’t belong anywhere near the levers of power. Every member of his cabinet and Congress is complicit in not demanding his removal now.
Damn, that sounds interesting! Congrats.
