So glad we got to do this. Sophy's a brilliant artist, and the connections between BLUE HERON and NOT A PRETTY PICTURE are subtle and profound. Give it a listen, and see both movies.
Saskatchewan is going to clean up at Alberta's liquidation sale.
(10 years ago it would have been unimaginable that Richard Price would publish a book without me knowing about it. Today it is very imaginable.)

A graphic featuring The Booksellers' List selection sticker alongside the cover for The Coffin of Honey. Beneath these two images is a quote from Basil Sylvester, a bookseller at Flying Books: ‘Geoffrey D. Morrison's The Coffin of Honey is an existential romp and a heartfelt cry for an international humanitarian awakening. It’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind for our modern era. Morrison's command of prose and literary devices has me breathlessly awaiting whatever's next.’

Reading a book on writing and there’s a section where they talk about how Aaron Sorkin is a master of the craft of putting art into the rigid formula of network television. I’m thinking, finally, yes, he really is. Then I realize I’m thinking of Aaron Spelling.
So yeah, in a way it is funny because it gives you a deeper understanding of a gag in this song.

I picked this book off the shelf at Buzzword Books in large part because it’s name checked in a Dead Milkmen song.

Triple Retrospective: Cullins/Lightle/Colón
After wrapping up my Giffen series, I had just enough in the tank to cover 3 more comic book artists worthy of a closer look. Super proud of this massive episode.
Put the kettle on and sit back, we got some heavies to discuss.
