As the Globe has reported, safe streets projects across the city have been halted with no clear explanation, even losing existing funding. Please join WalkUP Roslindale along with other advocates, city councilors, and fellow residents for a rally…

Thank you, Councilor Durkan, for proposing the zoning amendment to eliminate arbitrary parking mandates! We're glad to see our Councilor Liz Breadon as a co-sponsor! open.substack.com/pub/rondurk/...
Eliminating parking construction requirements in new housing advances the City's climate and housing affordability goals and will make Boston a more pleasant place to live and work. Concerns about existing parking should be addressed through a parking management program - meters, permit lottery, etc
Come to AB Housing Action's Coffee with Neighbors Sunday, April 12th, at Cafe Lava & Bento in Brighton Center. Great way to meet your neighbors in a relaxed setting!
Vague promises no longer enough for Allston and Brighton residents, who are planning a rally for a decent community center

Letter explaining AB Housing Action's request for full funding for a community center in Allston-Brighton
Our Allston-Brighton Housing Action letter to @mayorwu.boston.gov calling for funding a new Jackson-Mann Community Center. We're a community of mostly renters AND we work hard everyday for this city and our neighborhood. Stop the unequal treatment of neighborhoods and fully fund Jackson-Mann!
We are 80,000 residents in Allston-Brighton, but no funding for a functioning BYCF Community Center. Please write Mayor Wu to tell her we've been waiting for years, it's time to make a commitment to our neighborhood! nikhildasgupta.github.io/jackson-mann...
Allston-Brighton Housing Action's next Coffee with Neighbors Is coming up April 12th, noon to 1:30, at Cafe Lava&Bento in Brighton Center. Come join in conversation and meet new neighbors!

Hope to see our fellow Allston-Brighton residents this Saturday, March 14, at Allston-Brighton Housing Action's Coffee Hour, 11am at Cafe Lava and Bento in Brighton Center. It's a great way to meet friends old and new!
Change means confronting alot of laws which have broken our city, change means fixing the way we move around, how we design where we live, and reconnecting to each other without needing a car to do it. Its impossible to grow old here, its impossible to be a young professional here, we can do better
Allston-Brighton Housing Action invites you too! Coffee with Neighbors Feb 15 at Cafe Lava and Bento, 298 Washington St, Brighton, MA.
#Allston #Brighton come join your neighbors and meet new friends to talk about housing, zoning reform, and mobility this Sunday, Feb 15, at Cafe Lava &Bento in Brighton Center, 11:30am.
Bike lane bollards lay in a giant pile of snow on Western Ave in Brighton
Truly a bummer that the city,
1. Contracted street plows that rammed the bike lane bollards over on Western Ave in Brighton
2. Didn’t even fully clear the bike lanes of the snow anyway
3. Didn’t use small plows to correctly clear the bike lanes leaving them safe and usable
Thank you, @planning.boston.gov for a good virtual Allston-Brighton Community Plan meeting last night where we talked about the need for zoning reform in our community. AB residents, come to the in-person meeting Feb 11, 6-8pm, and join ABHA afterwards at Devlin's! partiful.com/e/Tf9igDn3FH...
HUGE thank you to everyone who came out. We made this stretch of the city safer and couldn't have done it without you. @bikeboston.bsky.social
Comm Ave now has a bike lane again thanks to the effort of this volunteer crew!
This is just one street, and we don't have the plows that the city has. Let's get this done city-wide!

And we are ready to get to work with more neighbors in 2026!
Allston-Brighton Housing Action celebrated its first year of pro-housing advocacy with 70+ neighbors, elected representatives, and civic leaders. We're working to shape a Boston where everyone can thrive. Thank you Councilors Liz Breadon and Sharon Durkan, Sen. Brownsberger and so many others!
It was great talking with Alllstonia reporter, John Lin, about the Allston-Brighton Community Plan. Laying the groundwork for an abundant future where everyone can thrive! @planning.boston.gov allstonia.com/2025/11/23/t...
Hope to see these in Massachusetts soon!
Read this whole thread, and congratulations California YIMBY!
A new poll of Boston residents on housing finds;
💰73% think cost of renting or buying is a 'MAJOR PROBLEM'
👎74% rate City's response as fair or poor
🏗️81% say City "needs to allow more homes"
🏡80% support a goal of 30,000 new homes
🚇71% support 12-story buildings near MBTA
“A lot of times, we’re reluctant to change on really dumb things.”
Many of the rules shaping what we can and can’t build today were written 50–60 years ago. If we want to meet Massachusetts’ modern housing needs, everything should be on the table for reform.

“Eliminating minimum parking requirements is a historic-preservation strategy, a climate action, a mobility win & housing-affordability policy in one. It helps make housing more affordable, neighborhoods more walkable, & city more livable.”
