Big and important meeting at the office around the current job situation and people are incapable of logging their phones out for 45 mins 🙄

Now we're hastily sorting time off work as he needs to stay home tomorrow 😂

Thanks. The water lily will take over the moulded pond and the other bit was too much to fill back in so that's the drinking pond, and hopefully the birds and wildlife will be using it again 🤞🏼

Just had a text saying I can collect him anytime because he's been to the vets and he's got to rest, and he's on anti-inflammatories.

I'm sure they are, they just didn't seem to like the movement of the pebbles plus my garden slopes due to the lie of the land and despite my best efforts it made the pebble beach a bit steep. I've put some housebrick steps in now so just need to move the cams around.

have to move the cameras around and see if they're using it again 🤞🏼

I caught that on camera last year, scrapping on the stone I put in as a drinking platform and one shoved the other in 😂 At the mo I haven't got a camera on the pond as one of them packed in, and when I put down the pebbles the hedgehogs weren't as keen on using it, so now I've rejigged it again I'll

Can't believe Duke has come back to us broken (although I have to say I'm *glad* we aren't the ones who have broken him). Our handler took him swimming, and he's now got limber tail so he's on full rest at the moment 😐 It's caused by swimming and overexertion. Bless him.

Yup. Even though the trees still aren't all out mine is better than it was. February and March are my worst times now 🤧

Hope it's just pollen and not lush. My met office alert today was 'moderate' x

He's so cute 🥰

Yeah same. Had TikTok v briefly but far too addictive so got rid of that. Threads currently seems to be a Heated Rivalry hangout 🤣 so I'm mainly here, there or IG with a bit of FB but not much beyond wishing people happy birthdays on there these days.

Nope. I check it for a chat group and football related stuff but otherwise I'm on IG or Threads, but yeh it's quieter here.

As he's not yet qualified he isn't covered by the same legal rights as a working guide dog, the garden centre said as long as he/we had our ID it was fine. But anyway our trainer said she'd take him and see what he was like at home, first hand. And tbf it does make things easier.

meeting his sister and BIL to take their dad for breakfast on Sunday morning, then coming home. We were all prepared to take Duke with us, including checking with the garden centre we're going to on Sunday that he was allowed as they don't allow dogs! (all the ones I go to up here are dog-friendly)

We're taking a short trip darn sarf this weekend as Bob's dad's wife died last weekend (we only found out Tuesday evening) so Duke is staying with our trainer. It's also his nephew's 40th tomorrow so we're all going out for a hastily-arranged meal with the extended family in the evening,

Maybe those who were declined before will get accepted this time. It would help solve the too-many-people-not-enough-work issue in our team. Not sure why my colleague with fewer years' service would apparently get more money than me though (I've never *got* financial stuff like this, pensions, etc)

And now it's not loading my last reply 🙄

Yeh I've just done the calculations and on paper it's tempting but I'm the main breadwinner and in a couple of years will be the only earner in the house. The thought of having to start finding a new job after 22 years is terrifying, and giving up a lot of official and unofficial perks/benefits

another round of voluntary severances with 8mths' equivalent pay or 9mths for 10+ years' service (so most of our team would get that if accepted). As one of the girls said who I was talking to at the same time, I'm too chicken to do it despite the promise of an almost 2/3 of my salary payout.

Well the Q&A/Chat was a bin fire as usual. Love that no one cares that their names are visible when asking the questions. I tuned out at the few questions they answered live, they ignored plenty (they publish them all a couple of days later) as some of the higher-ups make me murderous. But yeh,

Standing by the for a staff briefing on our third (final) year of financial cutbacks and crisis, and finding out what's happening with jobs. So far I've heard they're shutting most of our catering outlets including the shiny new one in one of our shiny new buildings that hasn't been open a year.
