Dog for sale because he ran zoomies in the muddy backyard immediately after I watered my grass seed and then just now he sat next to me and farted.

Just took the dog's skull to my orbital socket, so I think it's time to head to the office so Bo can't complete the morning trifecta

Whichever cat doesn't have "the spot" is relegated to human harassment duty & now I have a shirt and lap blanket covered in coffee because Brigid headbutted my mug 😺☕💥. I'd say 1 outta every 4 coffees gets spilled by one of my 3 beasts. Happy Monday!
Today's doom scrolling involves a mass shooting that took place early this morning about one mile from my house. There really aren't any words anymore
A huge part of academe is likability- sorry it's true!- and mean arrogant sexpest assholes who hate their students are pushed out. You have to enjoy being around other people and be kind to your colleagues to have genuine long lasting impact.

Update: Bo won.

I have less than 3 days to finish a presentation for this weekend's Iowa Archeological Society meeting and Bo is just gonna Bo. This is after he bit my thigh because I wouldn't make him a blanket fort on my lap.
A HUGE congrats to Grinnell College's @cocalola.bsky.social on this grant, awarded to support important archaeological work & research at the Rock Springs, WY, Chinatown | 🏺thesandb.com/55311/news/anthropology-...
Gemini: The acute agony you’ve been experiencing will let up a bit and morph into more of a vague dread that’s actually much, much harder to endure.
Canva! The free version should do it. Just make the canvas the pixel size you need it to be or do a square like 300x300 pixels.
A stone monument above a holy well. It's engraved with a St. Brigid's cross and says, "Tobar Bhrighde, St. Brigid's Well"
The Irish royal inauguration site of Rathcroghan in Roscommon, appearing as a large earthen mound in a green pasture with a mostly cloudy sky in the background
The entrance to Oweynagat Cave,Cave of the Cats and entrance to the Irish Otherworld,is also said to be the home of the Morrigan. It's a small muddy entrance below a hawthorn tree, capped by a lintel stone.
The round stone tower and a stone cross at Clonmacnoise, early Christian complex.
Capping off my latest trip back to Ireland, had a wonderful lunch with my former advisor & mentor Kieran O'Conor today. Rathcroghan yesterday, Clonmacnoise last week, coffee with Conor Newman, visits with old flatmates, holy wells, and lots of wonderful conversations with @ealadubh.bsky.social
GAHHH just realized my Capital One debit card, which used to be MasterCard & transferred to Discover, won't work in Ireland. This was my go-to card because there are no foreign transaction fees. So nice of them to transfer my traveling card to something that doesn't work outside the US.
Huh, the "3" button on my laptop is sticking today. Monday, you old dog, stop with the nonsense.
Headed to Ireland next week where I lived & studied for years and visit nearly annually to catch up with friends and scholarly connections. My stepdad asked if I was going for the purpose of seeing my former boyfriend from ~2003. PARENTS, MAN, WHY THEY GOTTA MAKE IT WEIRD 😵💫
I volunteer as an early singer 😅 ... Maybe. Late night pints = liquid courage
Ooh, this is addicting. 0.0027
Much of what these kids created was truly mind-blowing. Although we weren't prepared this deluge, I'm thankful that we could contribute as much as we did! Because now, THOUSANDS of kids have increased their awareness, appreciation and knowledge of archaeology. And that is HUGE. 🏺
Both my gpas had the same name. One was a CCC tree planter, then worked for Standard Oil. The other died while on his rural newspaper delivery job in the 60s. To avoid a cow in the road, he slammed on his brakes with his wooden leg, which caused his head to slam the car roof. Absolutely brutal.
This is so exciting! My immense thanks and gratitude to this army of public archaeologists for contributing their time, expertise, and experience to help make this book happen! We can only improve public archaeology by learning from and collaborating with each other 🫶🏺 #pubarch

Just did a virtual guest lecture to an undergrad Public Archaeology class in Illinois and this bozo of course launched onto my desk and knocked over a can of sparkling water, right in the middle of everything. This is part of his handiwork, I just left the puddle until I finished the talk 😂
Got an email from an ECR that's lifting me up just as I need it most! The youths are making me hopeful for #pubarch "I was able to finish your public archaeology book over the weekend and I really loved it. It helped me narrow down what it is I would like to do with my career." tinyurl.com/4dwfmt2b
I see no lies here

It's a pretty fantastic story that began with someone illegally hunting in private creeks and resulted in a huge rural, community initiative!

Many thanks to Bernard Means of VCU for his guidance on prepping! Sanding, sanding, sanding, spackling, sanding some more, and painting a base coat.
At least I'm able to work on a creative project. I'm replicating mastodon teeth and tusks on 3D prints to gift to the landowner as a thank you for donating everything to a small, rural museum. My grit is 2 different kinds of sugar! 🏺
NOOO!!
At a book signing, David Sedaris looked at me for a nano-second before I even spoke and went, "Gemini, huh?" Then he dug into his tote and found a hotel mini lotion to gift me, because my birthday had just passed.
