I thought I may feel some sense of elation.
I feel numb.

Thanks. It’s a magical sound.
I’ve always thought of it as a whistle-warble.
I have resigned!
I’ve booked a meeting with HR
I’m resigning.
Enough is enough.
My colleagues appear to have lost their collective minds.
I really don’t need this. The effect on my own mental health is noticeable.
Absolutely brutal line

After I spent over nine hours wrestling with flat pack furniture, my brain rewarded me with 3.5 hours sleep.
I feel broken today. My DIY skills aren't the greatest, and I've just managed to crack the acrylic screen from a picture frame while removing the protective film.
*sigh*
I survived Ikea on a Saturday!
Drove back to a soundtrack of black metal after a child in the store let rip with a scream that no vocalist in the genre could hope to match.
The lo-fi aesthetics of this are infinitely more calming to my ears: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KuN...
A screenshot showing my heart rate according to my Garmin tracker. It’s 45bpm, with a resting heart rate of 58bpm.
I just walked 6.5km into Heb and back, taking the steep lane that goes half way up to the moors.
My heart rate didn’t exceed that of a zombie.
I’ve not made my 150 minutes of exercise this week and I don’t know how especially with the amount of adderall in me. My heart rate:
Managed to send a glass of water arcing across the lounge.
Sadly, the windows-infested work laptop remained unaffected.
Yet again, my decision to head out was timed to the femtosecond for the day’s heaviest downpour.
Unfortunately, it’s the work laptop.
I think it may find itself at the bottom of the canal due to a series of unfortunate mishaps.
I’ve just signed out and quit the app only to have it immediately restart.
WTAF?!
I’ve quit Teams and still the distractions come through!
How do you switch the damn thing off for good?
We're supplying military equipment to Israel. And Labour cares so little about it that Belgium has to step in and stop the shipments. I guess Labour's too busy arresting protestors against the genocide?
Having finally focused to finish my work, I opened Teams again.
And promptly quit after two seconds.
It’s relentless. Why don’t people want to hold an actual conversation any more?
I’m hoping that me quitting Teams and Outlook for an hour gets me sacked.
Those are not productive or normal ways of working.
I only tried Beyond burgers once and was astonished by the amount of oil they held (and the cleaning I had to do afterward to get rid of spattered oil).
Another day of multiple meltdowns thanks to microsoft and the joy of endless Teams interruptions.
I can’t focus. I can’t do any work due to teams. And once again microsoft closes all my programs with no prior warning.
Uh-oh, uh-oh, it's back to work I go.
That was the least restful break I've ever had. On the plus side, I used power tools without the need to call emergency services.
That's an achievement in and of itself.
Hm. I have too much clutter in my flat to assemble my Ikea purchases.
I have no choice but to make a plan.
I have so many questions about the existence of this medieval version: youtu.be/Ueg8QIt7ZTo?...
I may have just set a record.
In and out of IKEA, including returning an item and finding the piece I forgot yesterday, within 15 minutes.
If I didn’t spend a few mins mooching in the used section, I’d have been in and out in under 10 mins.
Now to perplex myself as I try to assemble all this.
Great. The one missing part is the one part Ikea don't deliver.
I spent far too much time updating my CV and website for a job I wanted only to find it's now gone.
I also forgot to buy a key part of the shelves I got from Ikea.
This weekend is not off to a good start.
After a week off work to catch up with myself and sort my life out, I've managed to clutter my flat with boxes of Ikea flat pack furniture. Yay.
I returned a few things to Ikea today. Just realised that the blackout blind, which triggered the trip, is still here, leaning against the wall.
On the plus side, I got a 2 metre long package into my Fiat500.
Hebden Water flows through a rock-strewn riverbed at Hardcastle Crags. The trail follows to the left, and bare trees still await their first buds either side of the steep channel the water flows through.
Not the best shot but I love the light. A sinking sun sets the trees ablaze with brilliant light, turning green sap and moss into almost brilliant yellows. To the right, a large boulder is perched ominously over me.
A set of stone steps leads to a higher trail and deep blue skies that lie beyond.
Hebden Water, seen at the entrance to Hardcastle Crags. Tree roots poke above the path and the river is full of large, moss covered boulders.
I slept for just under 7.5 hours last night.
That’s the longest sleep I’ve had in years. I suspect my 20 km hike around Hardcastle Crags (surprisingly quiet) may have helped.
The answer has to be to make Wireless penniless.
