That was a hopelessly slow start this morning. I really have got to stop sitting up half the night listening to space travellers.

Meanwhile the Storm Dave prequel is wick.
You join the ranks of those who are more pleased with that than the new kitchen.
Getting closer.... pad clear underway...

I have volunteered you too Gav.
I volunteer!
Good luck to anyone selling the extra salary costs to the public…
My boss* is insisting I write scripts for 2 solid days, go to loads of meetings and record and edit on Thursday to “bring the pennies in, because we cannot live on air”.
No time for fiddling with radios.
What a git.

Interesting. I too listened to all the contest chatter and just didn’t have the energy for it this time around. There’s always another one. Would have called if I’d heard that CQ.
Oooh that’s a result on ssb. Managed Thailand once. On my rather modest wee low ZS6BKW inverted vee.
No
After finding a declassified government file in London which wasn't censored as it had been in Belfast, I investigated the reason - and found Stormont is now undertaking extreme censorship of these files. That means we'll understand NI's past less fully.
Nice chat with them this morning, though…
🤣🤣🤣😇
Me: (Listening happily to the Wolves Liverpool 5th Round FA Cup tie, on BBC Five Live.)
Mrs Will: And do you need a big radio like that to listen to the football?
Me: 😳
100w and a salt water Lough 10 metres away.
Bullied myself down to a local wildlife reserve by the sea yesterday with an HF mobile rig and a 14mHz vertical for the car roof. One mother of all POTA pileups later, I was so glad I’d taken the trouble. Delighted so many ops called in. #pota #hamradio #amateurradio #fun
Really strong! Just worked them.
Thanks for mentioning this. Just tried it there on the Quadra and it’s fine 👍🏻
Oooh. Might take a look. All cocky now, talkin’ big…
And it works really well! Thanks again.
Brilliant. Thanks very much!
Yes I was awake at 5, genuinely thought about getting up, dithered about for a bit and then slept until 0830!
No one to blame but myself.
So my Ubuntu-skilled friend who does this stuff for a living, came round. Raised his eyebrows a lot for 5 minutes. Then put a # directly in front of the new line in /etc/hosts and said “There. That puts you back. Wait until the clever people sort it. Then take the # out.”
All working as before.
Thank you for this Hubert. I installed it and had to go. The legacy option works fine. The open hamclock option… Couldn’t get it to work. Which port should I use?
Well, I find that oddly reassuring. So thanks! It shows it isn’t a problem with the hardware per se, rather a bug or series of bugs. I agree, I am going to let the guys get on with their work and wait until there are widespread signs that it’s all working.
Ach wick.
I have a friendly Unix expert
Coming ‘round tomorrow night. Price of a pint and he’ll take a look at. Kicking myself for not waiting until June
Worked out deleting configs from this:
Didn’t work. So I deleted the config files. Reinstall from the quadra ham apps installer. In the apps-hamradio menu. Now works but clicking in VOACAP DE-DX crashes it. Hmmm
