just saw someone call Kash Patel “J Edgar Boozer” and need to lie down

Good call. His Columbo went on holiday by mistake. 👍
Not gonna lie, I would 100% watch a Columbo reboot starring Laura Linney
Oddly enough, I don't think the stock market has priced in the extreme likelihood that a world war in the Persian Gulf will rage for the foreseeable future, starting in a few days.
DONALD TRUMP: Mail-in voting is CHEATING.
ALSO DONALD TRUMP: I did a mail-in ballot because I'm the President of the United States.
This is not a joke or sarcasm. This was literally Donald Trump's rhetoric over the course of mere days last month (and it reinforces Greg's summary of Trumpism).
Much funnier would be the Connie captain who has "Calvin pees on a Miranda" nose art -- "Ha! Ha! I have a big ship, you have a rinky-dink Miranda!" Starfleet trash talk.
It is a law (3rd sentence: "Although **this is a U.S. federal law**,[1] the code is not mandatory:"), and yes, there's no penalty or enforcement mechanism.
The Flag Code is something that the right and the left rhetorically throw at each other when they see something they don't like re: the flag.
US Flag Code
Yet another signpost on the road to the United States becoming a nuclear armed failed state
Mage is an intriguing and unexpected choice.
This Orioles game has been seriously wild
Writing PREVIEWS was a dream job. I was a regular PREVIEWS reader in my college years. The bankruptcy and my layoff were both devastating. I've applied for a number of comics jobs, and it's always, "No thanks." It's a rough job market right now.
The reports that Trump wanted the nuclear codes on Saturday is alarming, to say the least
I did not know Kash in college, though he and I were at the University of Richmond at the same time. I can believe that Kash is permanently wasted, because that was a definite type at Richmond when we were there, and Kash strikes me as being of that type.
I was already skeptical that the Trump presidential library/hotel that was revealed a few weeks ago would be built, and now I'm even more skeptical.
For one thing, I don't see a project of that scale lasting beyond Trump's lifetime. Two, I don't know who would actually pay for it.
It's a legacy of their 90s bankruptcy. Perlmutter didn't want money tied up in inventory.
I hoped that PRH as a book distributor would change things for Marvel on that front, but Marvel is gonna Marvel.
Yeah cause it’s the kind of thing you propose building to appease the ego of a narcissistic leader whose army just got its asked kicked by a Black military general (Touissant L’Overture) and Black enslaved people who ran your troops off their island.
It’s a monument to ego and defeat. Perfect.
If I have a criticism of Indy and the Crystal Skull, it's this: I wish it weren't as much of a remake of Last Crusade as it is.
Patrick Stewart, in his autobiography, writes that he was told that TNG wasn't likely to last, maybe 13, 16 episodes.
Later he writes that a Paramount exec told him they almost cancelled the show due to the WGA strike.
A world where TNG only gets one season was closer than we ever realized.
I wonder if the GOP loses one or both Houses of Congress in November if some obsequious fool will try to push through legislation for awarding Trump the MoH in the lame duck session. It won't survive a filibuster in the Senate, thankfully.
Donald Trump believes he deserves the Congressional Medal of Honor because he visited Iraq for a Thanksgiving dinner with the troops.
I am not even kidding.

It seems like a Prime Minister who continues to get his corruption trial delayed for years because his government is engaged in wars has a personal incentive to keep wars going as long as possible.
At least Cartman, when he dressed as a cop and shouted "Respect my authoritah!" was more reasonable
Everytime I twist the nozzle on the showerhead to increase pressure, I imagine I am a dying Ricardo Montalban arming the Genesis device at the end of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn
When reading Sherlock Holmes stories I hear his dialogue in my head in Sean Connery's voice and I don't know why. "When you have eliminated the imposhible, Mish Moneypenny, whatever remainsh..." and so on.
Pete, in that case, I am proud to be "an enemy of Jesus." (I would sometimes describe myself as a journalist at Diamond.)

I genuinely don't remember Kash, but I wouldn't be surprised if he were one of the Richmond students who spent his weekends at parties and blackout drunk. I saw a lot of students like that, especially the New Jersey students, of which Kash was one.

I used to participate in Star Trek chats on a dial-up BBS in West Virginia circa 1989, 1990. I don't remember the name of the BBS, I don't remember the names of anyone I talked to, but I remember talking about dates and when TNG took place.
I guess Kash is still drinking the Beast. When he and I were at the University of Richmond (both of us in the History department, I was a year ahead), Milwaukee's Best was the school drink. Almost every party you went to, you got the Beast.
The quality parties at UR served Natty Ice.
