i was really inspired by madonna’s Don’t Tell Me for this one sonically, and I mixed a drum machine with the recordings Steve did of Jimmy playing real drums to bring this sound to life, and Nancy made it perfection with her mix/master. the juxtaposition of the two contradicting layers of percussion felt like it accurately depicted the contradicting thoughts that take host in my brain all the time and how they’re always fighting against each other, and symbolically, as a foundation (of both the song and thoughts fed to me at a young age). i could ramble about this for a long time but i think you should just listen to it
