I'm calling it Proxima 👀

Just got off an onboarding call which was music to my ears:

1) "Oh this is really easy to use" (we're getting this a lot)

and

2) Oh I can stop using [a competitor] and just use you, perfect I hate them.

I'd never use a quote like that on a comparison page, but there will be a comparison soon!

We only had Fathom web analytics for launch. We didn't add PostHot or even an admin view (outside Supabase) until we had multiple trials going and 30+ signups.

So yes, you don't need that for launch.

Today I'm installing @openclaw-x.bsky.social on a 2020 MBP.

My plan is to have it be my Chief of Staff that I had been using Obsidian + Claude Code to do.

The rate of innovation we're seeing. Opus 4.6, boom Codex 5.3.

I'm a Claude guy using dev3000.

Who's got the best comparison of using Codex?

Coding is fun again.

Feels like anything is possible.

And quickly!

Thanks AI.

The new coding loop:

60% -> Spend a lot of time on definition (with AI)
10% -> Spend a little time using AI to turn it into stories
1%-> Walk away and do other things while AI codes
20% -> Come back and test and do code reviews
9% -> Use AI to do most of the necessary changes

For coding and PRD writing I haven't used anything but Opus 4.5 in a month.

You?

In person events are under rated for marketing. #buildinpublic

It's both stressful and insanely satisfying when you can fix something for a customer minutes after they bring it up. #buildinpublic

Yah that's always a hard one to see. But there's also just something about seeing someone else use it that makes you notice all the small details.

There's nothing like screen sharing with a new customers doing onboarding to make you seen 100 flaws you need to refine. #buildinpublic

Does that help given someone can just use a VPN?

I've been tempted to block everything but the US from signups because we only work for the US anyhow right now.

But figured that wouldn't matter with VPNs

Oh hey, I really need to revamp that site. I stopped writing the newsletter a year ago. Thanks for looking though!

Thanks, no I haven't looked at either.

My plan is to reach out to YT creators who speak to my niche.

What do you do while you wait for AI to write your code?

My new thing is working on card tricks.

So you need content in your marketing plan for all of it. On your website, in your ads, etc.

This is why TOFU, MOFU, BOFU exists, top of funnel stuff is hey we can solve this problem you have.

MOFU is and here's how we do it (features, info go here).

And BOFU is all about pricing, enticing.

Well people don't buy features, they buy outcomes.

For example, HiCira.com, it's an AI Voice Receptionist, it has lots of features (which matter for objections, comparisons, etc)

But what they're buying is not missing calls, which means missing leads, which means missing revenue.

The tips point you to where you can get more value out of the application.

I divided our onboarding flow into three phases:

1. Actual onboarding, what we need to get you to signup AND to see distinct value.

2. Activation, stuff that matters to get you to use it. You see this flow once you login to the dashboard.

3. And Tips, replaces the activation flow,

Trying out Cursor's agent mode today. I didn't realize it had a Plan mode then a Build mode available.

It just one shot 3 pages and 3 forms, made server actions, db changes, in under 60 seconds.

🤯

If you're using Cursor, you have got to give their new Compose 1 model a try.

It's so stupid fast. Like crazy fast, totally change agentic coding.
