It was written by a Baptist minister as a way to instill patriotism, foster national unity, and assimilate waves of new immigrants into American culture following the Civil War. We are the opposite of all of this. Those words we were taught, held great meaning and promise, now ring hollow.

Mood: I recited the Pledge of Allegiance as a kid, and truly believing in those words. As an adult, I no longer believe we honor that pledge or hold that allegiance to be true.

That plus, those with know ties to hate groups. Targeting certain grps by using capitalization of "Homeland" and "Heritage," and the use of exactly 14 words in some captions, are coded references significant in white supremacist circles.
