The only lasting way out of the fossil dependency is shifting electricity generation to renewables and nuclear.

And electrifying the economy as rapidly as possible.

We will present our electrification strategy before the summer.

Electrifying Europe means making Europe more independent.

Meanwhile, here in St Albans we have fallen to 10th place from number 1 just 3 years ago (64.2% to 59.1%).

This will likely be part due to other councils catching up and the introduction of a subscription for the garden waste collections.

At least we can now add Tetra Pak cartons to the black bin.

Birmingham City Council is, unsurprisingly, 3rd from the bottom.

Somehow Liverpool City Council and Tower Hamlets (London Borough) have managed to do even worse than a city with a barely functioning waste collection system!

Simpler household recycling rules come into force across England Simpler Recycling to end years of confusion and deliver consistent collections

SADC/Veolia were finally forced to accept them by the government's new Simpler Recycling rules which came into effect today.

To be fair, they already had pretty much everything else covered.

"Recycle Tetra Paks
You will be able to recycle Tetra Pak containers from this April together with aluminium foil, tubs and trays.
These should all be put into your black mixed recycling bin for fortnightly collections.
The initiative complies with the UK Government’s new Simpler Recycling legislation which all local authorities must follow. See page 8 for more recycling information."

St Albans and Harpenden residents can, from today, recycle food and drink cartons (Tetra Pak etc.) with their mixed recycling (Black Bin).

So no more trips to the overflowing banks at Waitrose!

TalkHome use the EE mobile network, EE's APN and therefore the BT ASN 2856.
They are very much a no-frills provider, I'm paying £2.89 per month for a 3GB SIM-only deal.

On the downside, I currently cannot receive SMS messages and the provider's app is broken. Hopefully this is just over-running maintenance.

I finally have IPv6 support from my mobile provider - TalkHome Mobile (UK)!
I woke up this morning to see a new 'VoLTE' icon on my phone. Checked the status and see an IPv6 address on the mobile interface for the first time, and it works. Woohoo!

Government to go “further and faster” in becoming energy secure The Energy Secretary outlines measures to protect consumers and make Britain energy secure.

This is cool. The Government is set to allow plug-in solar, low cost solar panels that families can buy at supermarkets and put on their balconies or outdoor space.

"In Germany over a million have been sold, helping households with energy costs and reducing dependence on fossil fuels."

Sainsbury's Wrapped 2025 has dropped.
I am the number 8 buyer of Golden Marzipan in all of England.
I stocked up when it was reduced to 20p after Christmas.

I have tested Windows 11 prev 27924 and CLAT. My network have DHCP option 108, RA with PREF64 and RDNSS with DNS64.
Everything looks okay/correct with the CLAT setting, but I can't get CLAT to work. I finally disabled IPv4, but I still can't get CLAT to work. Has anyone managed to get it working?
