Reconstruction was a failure that left the South strong and defiant even after the war—they still treasure the Confederate Flag, a symbol of their hatred for our Republic. This cannot be tolerated any longer—it is time for a Second Reconstruction.

Today, many of these racist views have returned to the South, or perhaps they never left due to the failure of Reconstruction. Regardless, the South has become a hateful, hyper-religious place much like it was in the 1800’s, and it is time for the federal government to take action.
161 years ago today, Robert E Lee surrendered, marking the beginning of the end of the Civil War. Make no mistake—their goal was to protect slavery and the racist culture they created around it.
The news of a ceasefire in Iran brought instant relief to me—at least for two weeks, Iran will not face the total genocide Trump threatened.
The Trump administration should face sanctions from the other global powers over their abuse of power and threats of mass destruction.
I believe that any Democrat, candidate or elected official, should face a Primary challenge if they support the war in Iran. That is why I am supporting a primary challenge to Rebecca Cooke: she is a faux-progressive Warhawk, and she is not right for the Valley.
In his statement “a whole civilization will die tonight”, Donald Trump is threatening genocide against the people of Iran. There is no way to sugar coat it—the total annihilation he is implying is genocide, plain and simple.
Thanks for the hate comments, transphobes. The algorithm loves the interaction, so I couldn’t do this without you!
Gov. Evers Keeps Promise to Protect LGBTQ Youth, Again Vetoes Several Anti-LGBTQ Bills Targeting Trans and Gender Nonconforming Kids

Draft dodging is easier than it ever has been. Just say you’re trans, problem solved!
Proud of my fellow Americans’ impressive turnout to No Kings this weekend. All across the country, millions poured into the streets to protest Trump’s authoritarianism and hateful, bigoted “policy”. It was a beautiful and inspiring display of solidarity and unity against tyranny.
The Republican Party has become an anti-queer cult, devoted to bombing children overseas and making queer kids in America as miserable as possible.
I cannot support the party of book bans, the party of conversion therapy, and the party of confederate flags.
Proud to report that I am still too transgender for the draft🫡
Does anyone know how the “protect the children” right-wingers are still defending Trump, post Epstein?
Genuinely very curious.
Putting poorly trained, violent troops in our airports will only scare international visitors away from our increasingly authoritarian republic. Heavily armed federal troops in public spaces will be a disaster for our economy, a disaster for our international image, and a disaster for our democracy.
I wish the primary victor, Daniel Biss, the best. Try not to be just another white guy in Congress, please.
She is a thoughtful, caring and dedicated person, whose campaign I have been following and contributing to since she first announced it. She would have been an excellent addition to Congress, and I am shocked and deeply disappointed by her loss.
I am truly heartbroken by Kat Abughazaleh’s defeat in Chicago last night. Kat ran an inspiring, courageous progressive campaign, standing up to ICE at the Broadview concentration camp and using her campaign office as a community resource hub.
It’s important to recognize that this poll is misleading—paid for by Cooke, it pulls from a pool of conservative voters that does not reflect WI’s 3rd.
We cannot give up hope—Cooke can be defeated by people-powered, progressive politics if we all work together.
Let’s do this. #BergeforCongress
We must protect access to gender affirming care, including keeping the services covered by BadgerCare.
These issues are most important to me—they represent the big, accomplishable changes I want to see at the State level. I hope that the next Dem Governor will make these issues priority.
Finally, we must take steps to protect the persecuted minorities in Wisconsin—the state needs to take action to support and protect trans kids. We must implement anti-discrimination and Safe Haven protections for queer and trans Wisconsinites.
Teachers must be paid more, school lunches must be free, mental health services must be expanded, and the rights and safety of our students must be prioritized.
Secondly, our education system is broken. We need to modernize our curriculum, limit religious indoctrination in schools, and double if not triple the funding for our education programs.
First, the worker’s rights situation in Wisconsin must be fixed. We have one of the lowest minimum wages, little to no protection for our workers, and anti-Union laws at the state level. Wisconsin deserves a living wage, safety from discrimination in their employment, and better working conditions.
As I devote more and more of my life to politics, I have been faced with the question of which issues are most important to me—this has not been a hard question to answer.
It’s time for a face reveal! I’m devoting more of my time and energy to politics, and as I do so I am moving out of anonymity. I am realizing it takes direct involvement to make real change—so that’s what I’m fighting for.
The goal of kicking trans people out of public bathrooms was always to force trans people out of the public eye. In most cases, my tax dollars pay for public restrooms that I cannot legally/Safely use—does that sound fair to you?
This disastrous war in Iran will 1,000% hand Democrats the House come Midterms, if not the Senate.
I look forward to the impeachment trials.
Wisconsin is at a crossroads—it is crucial that the Courts are on our side as we stare down the potential of a Tom Tiffany-led assault on our democratic processes.
If Chris Taylor is elected in April, and Justice Ziegler is replaced with a liberal, the State Supreme Court will have an undefeatable liberal majority—a majority that would protect abortion rights, support unions and fight back against Republican prosecution of queer people.
Conservative State Supreme Court Justice Annette Ziegler isn’t seeking re-election—this presents a golden opportunity for Wisconsin to safeguard our democracy against a potential Tiffany governorship.
