Yeah, it has some pros to it, like being able to counterpick not only a char but a whole comp is occasionnally interesting, but the cons vastly outweight the pros imo.

That might explain why ranked often feels like a stomp in either direction rather than a tight and balanced match. But no, as far as Quickplay is concerned, I think it either doesn’t have a matchmaking algorithm or it is extremely bad.
And then there's Marvel Rivals. A game where Free Play have, more often than not, metal rank players matched with Celestial/Grandmaster players.
The game is so good but its matchmaking is so bad.
That is truly an handsome and beautiful doggo
Was the cult skeet bad? Yup, absolutely.
But it can’t be used to explain/excuse any behaviour by GDQ staff that happened before the skeet. And yet I keep seeing people use it as an argument.
I have seen posts heavily discouraging going public, or to even talk to others about it outside of internal reports, especially with the NDA discourse that occurred two weeks ago.
Also, once again, the cult thing happened two days AFTER Brossentia mentionned that GDQ reached out to his employer
Yeah, seeing all the GDQ staff push super hard for internal reports only and discouraging every other avenues is one of the main red flag I got out of this. So many things will go unreported specifically because of that stance.
And as far as blocking goes, what I hate about this whole situation is how it’s sending the message "make reports, nothing else, if you speak up you’ll be banned".
I don’t know that I would have said anything today if I planned on submitting to SGDQ2026. It’s legit frightening to speak against GDQ.
Now, those are different situations, different stories, etc. But ngl, the recency and the importance of that specific call out in our community probably influences how I read Brossentia’s initial call out.
Yeah, it’s not great and super aggro, but that doesn’t mean there’s no truth in it.
The first call out was basically "i have a friend who got harassed by this streamer, if there are other victims, please contact me". She got bullied, deleted the tweet, and nobody dared share their story for years after that.
Turns out, her story was right and she wasn’t the only one.
Not a fan of the "hijack" narrative because rooting out abusers often lead to others speaking out about other abusers. But other wise, yeah, I think Brossentia handled everything pretty poorly and the ban is pretty logical
Me saying GDQ handled some things poorly doesn’t excuse Brossentia’s mistakes
And I really hope in that situation I’d still reach out to him to ask "wtf are you talking about"?
We recently had a call out of an important french streamer that was delayed BY YEARS because the community bullied the person that first spoke out and was looking for other victims. It’s not great.
If you genuinely want me to, I can unfollow you, sure.
But as far as I’m concerned, there’s no need for that. If I had to spontaneously unfollow everyone I don’t fully agree with, I’d have a pretty empty follow list.
Ok to stop the discussion here, but I can’t let it end on misinformation.
Warning his employer happened two whole days before he dropped the cult insinuations, the former cannot possibly be a consequence of the latter.
Idk, if my gardener who’s also a member of my boardgame association tells me there’s abuse going on in my boardgame association, I might reach them and ask "wtf are you talking about?" before deciding to cut all contact.
And iirc the cult thing happened after the "you contacted my employer" thing.
(And for what it’s worth, I also disagree with the way Brossentia acted. But he’s an individual, not an org I’ve supported for 10+ years, so I care far less about him doing stuff I don’t condone.)
Fair point.
The way GDQ handled all of this still raises multiple red flags for me, but you’re right that those are pretty different courses of actions that shouldn’t be conflated.
I understand banning him. Hell, I disagree with not contacting him to discuss his call out even if you think it’s bullshit but I understand. But calling his employer under the guise of a "standard professional practice" when the whole situation is extremely personnal, that genuinely has me worried.
Idk, if my gardener does a bad job, I might call his boss and ask they send someone else next time.
If the guy is a former employee of mine, and a member of my boardgame association that I’m meeting every thursday and who’s starting a call out, my first reaction is not to call his boss.
Are we really discarding all the context that’s making all of this extremely personnal and not *just* a professional thing?
But this situation is not just a contractor vs contractor worker thing, though. Like, yeah, if we strip every bit of context from this whole situation, yeah I can see how it is ok to do so.
Not before you communicate to the employee that he’s not welcome, no.
It’s really simple, not wanting someone to work for you don’t give you the right to endanger them.
Idk, I know a lot of people need to talk with others, process what happened, sometimes learn about other victims, etc, before they ever feel like it deserves a report and that they should make one. I’ve seen it happen times and times again.
Being afraid of getting banned derails that whole process.
Even so, there is absolutely zero world where it is ok to contact the company before contacting Brossentia. Full stop, it is unacceptable.
Even if Brossentia had 100% made up their accusation, contacting their employer directly to tell them Brossentia is banned from working for GDQ is such a huge no-no.
And while, yes, this is also hearsay with no direct proof, I’m yet to see any GDQ official deny the claim or apologize for it.
Not a single apology for contacting your employer before contacting you? This is so unacceptable.
Je suis complètement d’accord.
Et il parait que le film n’est pas ouf non plus.
Même comme ça, mon cerveau est immédiatement parti en mode YA YA YA YA YA
