DAY 18 APRIL 2026
TODAY JOY
PRESIDENT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA MET WITH MAYOR ZOHRAN KWAME MANDAMI FOR THE FIRST TIME
Diversity is America
How wonderful singing with the chicken in the BRONX
We need more of this
More like the two of them
To turn the wheels
There was a time when the president inspired pride instead of exhaustion. I miss that more than I can say.
bedtime mindfulness routine staring at super bright phone screen
Six days til I see Florence + the Machine live in NYC! This will be my first time seeing her in concert 🙌🏻
A fluffy orange cat laying in a sunny spot on the floor next to a pair of shoes.
Happy baby in a sun spot after his very grumpy morning vet visit. He goes once a month for a very fast arthritis shot but he acts like they are gonna murder him 🙄🤣 Literally 15 mins in and out but to him it is truly awful! Extra treats for forgiveness have been given.
I was so annoyed about wrong information on the internet that I decided to make a video about how non-trinary neutrinos move and what quantum tunneling is. Andy Weir may be more bestselling than me but I'm more expert lol 🧪⚛️

Crazy, fun fact: today is the anniversary of the Apollo 13 splashdown! Whattt!
If you want the Zoom link, you can DM me. We want cool folks to join and no troublemakers so the link is by request. 💫

We're kicking off the Space Education Summit right now with Apollo 13 astronaut Fred Haise (!!!!!!!) & Mark "Forger" Stucky, Virgin Galactic pilot/astronaut. I'm honored to bookend the day with our final panel at 4:50pm on Space Philosophy with legend Frank White! 🚀🪐🌎
That is good; I just hate to see it eliminated in any form. The anti-intellectualism gripping this country is vile!
This is beyond fucked up. We need these STEAM majors!!!
From lamthirtyaf on Instagram: "Why do people named Thomas go by Tom and not Ass" in meme text over a photo of Thomas the Tank Engine
Seen once on Insta, giggled about in the group chats multiple times over 🤣

💙🇺🇸🌊 FUCK YES!!!! Democrat Analilia Mejia wins special House election!!! newjerseymonitor.com/2026/04/16/a...
“It’s a couple of things that work beautifully in concert. First: no music. Audiences are so sophisticated, but what they’re not accustomed to is not being told how to feel,” Wyle says. “You take all that out and it forces a level of engagement where you’re now looking for clues within the frame of the screen, which forces you to look up from your phone. And I think that is extremely engaging, especially to young viewers who aren’t accustomed to being asked to participate in a nonpassive way in the viewing experience.
“Second point, shooting it with almost exclusively 50-millimeter or 65-millimeter lenses, which is the most comparable to the human eye—and only shooting from the point of view of a human being that’s present in this space. There are no cameras on gurney wheels going in the hallway. There’s no cameras on the ceiling looking down from a God point of view. You are limited to the perspective of a participant. You can look away, but you can’t leave, and it becomes an endurance test for you to stay on your feet as long as we’re on our feet. Which [brings me to my] third point: real time. Real time has an aggregate sense of tension that you don’t get in any other form of storytelling. What happened before is happening now, and these two things are going to add up to the next thing. And if we throw more ingredients into this cooker and keep ratcheting it up, it’s going to pop.”
Wyle makes eye contact for his next point, delivering it with a Robby-esque matter-of-factness. “Fourth point: The election went the other way,” he says with a shrug. “We could have been a really good show with a lot of nice things to say in a perfectly normal Kamala Harris universe. And instead we became almost a beacon of hope and humanity in an alternative universe. But in the midst of that, fifth point—this is essentially competence porn. You’re watching really smart, dedicated people do what only they know how to do at a level that you don’t know how to do it, and you’re so fucking glad that they’re there doing it, and compartmentalizing their own stuff to put your broken pieces back together. You’re so reassured by knowing that there are people out there that laugh and joke and have the ability to lock in like that.”
this is fucking unreal stuff from Noah Wyle on the magic of The Pitt. www.gq.com/story/noah-w...

We should be learning from other countries...
NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility supported the successful launch of three Terrier-Oriole suborbital rockets for the Department of Defense between 2:30 and 2:31 a.m. today, Feb. 24, from NASA’s launch range on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The next launch from the Wallops Flight Facility is a NASA Terrier-Improved Malemute suborbital sounding rocket between 6 and 9 a.m. on March 27. Love's Labor's Lost. I saw that ep when I was like 15 and it was scarring! I'm an OG ER fan, that show was always intense.
Y'all ok? This is the first time today I've been able to post!
Also if you have any stress/sensitivity around pregnancy and childbirth I don't know if The Pitt finale tonight is for you. Scary and gory.
I have a category of professional contacts for just this occasion, its called People Who Only Talk to Me When They Want Something from Admiral Janeway" 🙃🙃🙃
And the rest of the time they act too cool to talk to me 🙄🙄
Omg the amount of times this has happened...
Also, "can you ask CELEB to do this? Can they get me published? Will they star in my project that has no agent and no backing and no studio?" 🤣🙃
Without saying your age, post your favorite film that released the year you turned 18.
