Making up for lost time on Bluesky buy sharing some semi-recent few photos.
Here's one that's not to everyone's taste, and that's OK. One-fifth second exposure of a ski jumper reaching the point of takeoff during training for the Continental Cup meet in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
Making up for lost time on Bluesky with what seems like a photo dump but really is just meant to be some of my favorites from the past couple of months. Here's an Anna's hummingbird in Fountain Hills, Arizona, from February.
Nice! They’re so cool. Saw one for the first time last month while visiting the Phoenix area after a lifetime of ruby-throated.
I got into a stretch of a social media saturation and neglected Bluesky, so now I'll probably overshare for a bit.
Here's a favorite from a recent Dropkick Murphy's concert in Milwaukee.

My understanding is those are supposed to be free. To grossly oversimplify, there are a lot of automated or semi-automated processes involved, so most likely it got mis-coded, which is a good reminder to me to be on the lookout when I pitch in on news.
Thanks, Steve.
I've been waiting for years for moonrise to line up like this over downtown Milwaukee from this spot, eight miles away, so long that I pretty much forgot about it. Not sure why I thought to look for the time and location today, but I'm glad I did.
Sailing at Sunset. Blazing setting sun made a magical moment on this day in 2021 over Chicago's Lake Michigan.
In Crandon, Wisconsin, there’s a country band playing in the middle of the afternoon on a side street after a Labor Day parade. Who joins in but @nascar.com truck champ Mike Skinner. 🤷🏻♂️
Messing around with the Milky Way in northern Wisconsin. I predict I'll have something better by the end of the weekend.

Aurora borealis with star trails in northern Wisconsin (coincidentally not far from a town named Aurora).
You're not going to get much of a hike there. 😀 View is from the boat landing, maybe 200 yards off Hwy 101 and about 25 yards from the parking lot. Plenty of good hikes in Florence County, though. My first tip would be LaSalle Falls.
Aw, thanks, Dan.
Some scenes just don't make sense, like a Scottish Highland cow peeking out of the spruce trees along the edge of a farm field in northern Wisconsin.
A couple of looks at the same sunset. Keyes Lake, Florence, Wisconsin.
