No mention of what federal laws may have been violated.

'Scarface' shoots 'em up SCARFACE FILMS IN BROWARD ... You say you just happened to be at the Kapok Tree Inn southwest of Fort Lauderdale last Saturday night and swore you saw somebody who looked like Al Pacino with an ugly scar on his left cheek? Well, stop swearing — you were right. Pacino, of Godfather and Serpico fame, was at the popular Broward eatery shooting a scene for Scarface. That's the controversial film about a Cuban refugee who arrives in Miami from the port of Mariel and becomes a notorious hotshot in the cocaine-peddling business. According to Kapok manager Ed Kowalski, Pacino and a Universal Studios crew started filming outside the restaurant's entrance about 7 p.m. Saturday and worked until 4 a.m. the next day. The scene will represent the outside of a lavish nightclub where Pacino visits, he says. "And then, from the script, he gets shot inside and there's a mad dash for the cars outside and they pull away," Kowalski says. Joan Eisenberg, the film's publicist, says further shooting of the scene will take place at a Kapok Tree set being duplicated in Los Angeles. You may recall that originally Scarface was to be filmed almost entirely in South Florida, but was moved to Tinseltown last November after Latins in Miami complained that the movie created a bad impression of Cubans. Ms. Eisenberg says the Scarface crew will be filming in the Miami area for 10 to 12 days, primarily because some aspects of the local environment — the sky and the landscape, for example — are too costly to recreate on a movie set. This remake of a 1932 movie starring Paul Muni as a Chicago gangster is scheduled for release in December — just in time for the 1984 Academy Awards.
On April 20, 1983, the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel reported that Al Pacino was filming a scene from 'Scarface' at the Kapok Tree Inn in Broward County.
The location is now known as the Long Key Nature Center.

For the record, for anyone who’s forgotten, it’s sheer madness for a president to contradict himself nearly every day. It’s profoundly wrong that we can’t trust the veracity of a single thing that he says.
