Point of order: all that matters is turning out the vote. Hungary just proved this.

Political actions that matter: doing whatever we can to motivate people to vote.

—We will get distracted, so repeatedly bringing our focus back to this objective, is key.

Food for thought:

In '24, 245M Americans were eligible to vote.

just 73.6 % of those (174M) registered to vote.

just 154M of them actually voted.

US voter turnout ranked in bottom 1/3 of all democracies.

This is how democracy dies.

Too many people have taken too much for granted for too long

A vintage-style graphic celebrating the Artemis II mission.

At the top, the names KOCH, WISEMAN, HANSEN, and GLOVER are printed in gold, separated by stars. Below the names are profile portraits of the four astronauts in their orange flight suits and helmets, facing inward toward each other. In the center, between the two pairs of astronauts, a rocket ascends into a dark blue, starry sky, leaving a bright trail of fire and smoke behind it.

The bottom half of the image features a large, detailed view of the moon’s cratered surface. Overlapping the moon is the word "CONGRATS" in large, bold yellow letters. Below it, the text "TO THE CREW OF ARTEMIS II" is written in a clean white and pink sans-serif font.

Democracy needs Virginia.

Vote YES for fair maps on April 21.

Don't sit this one out.

Democrats overperformed in the Georgia special election:

Republican Clayton Fuller beat Democrat Shawn Harris 56% to 44%.

Marjorie Taylor Greene won the same district by nearly 30 points in 2024.

Trump carried it in '24 by nearly 40 points.

The President of the United States is threatening to commit war crimes and wipe out a "whole civilization" — all because he started a disastrous war of his own making and had no plan and no strategy for how to end it.

This is abhorrent, and the American people do not support this.

I think it's bad for the President to threaten to annihilate an entire culture and i do not think you are being alarmist if you take his threats seriously and literally.

A few have suggested that some aspects of this mission--joy, international teamwork, diversity--are being played up to stick it to the hateful attitude of the administration. But I don't think it's that. I think it's just that those things are essential to and inseparable from a mission like this.

We could’ve had this intelligent supremely qualified leader in the White House instead of a dangerous psychopath. I’ll never regret voting for her.

You can’t vote out Trump in the midterms, but you can vote out the people who enable him.

Donald Trump votes by mail. But this week, he signed an Executive Order so you can’t.

Why? Because he is scared of your power, and he is scared of losing the midterms.

On this date in 1869, Clifford Berryman was born. He worked as a political cartoonist for nearly 60 years at the Washington Post & Star. His work inspired the teddy bear & he was a critical voice for DC voting rights.
