I appreciate you sharing this, it's really well written. The couple of times I've responded to users promoting Kagi with my own reservations/experience, it feels like talking into a void. It's kind of a relief know I'm not the only one who went through that experience of disillusionment with it.

Apparently it's not clear that the issue I had was not that I personally saw that result.

This happened 3+ yrs ago & I didn't think to preserve the query, but a) it was an image alongside my web search results (in one of those image results previews that sometimes appear), & b) it was a physical description of a character from a book, neither the text nor subtext was nazi-related

fwiw, I used Kagi until I got stormfront images in my search results. I asked about it on their discord and got a really disappointing response along the lines of ‘we don’t engage in any kind of censorship’ (they do, it’s kind of inherent to what they do, they’re just ok with surfacing nazi forums)

fyi – the section for Ha VL mentions that the page was last update was 4/18/2018, just in case you updated that menu and forget to remove/update the date
