New paper! Now leaving little doubt that Yunxian are, as was originally assumed, H. erectus, NOT Denisovans or part of a recent Homo sapiens clade to the exclusion of Neanderthals etc.

Congratulations Marta!! Well deserved honor!! 👏👏👏
"But now, as an anthropologically-trained primatologist, I see this story through a different lens. What was apparent watching the documentary was that this compelling narrative is rooted in colonialism and neo-colonialism."
Please, read this amazing essay.

Here’s a cool take on the Asian Middle Pleistocene hominins that appeared in Discover Magazine. Homo juluensis is alive and kicking… 💪💪

Perhaps, but at the end of the day, it ain’t science if we are not disagreeing on how to interpret the data. If there is one point I think we can agree on is that we have been seriously underestimating the amount of variation in Asian Chibanian hominins.

[new paper alert]. This student led paper is really cool. Hopefully, it closes the lid on arguments that the Australasian tektites cannot be used to date the Bose handaxes. 💪💪
