I have been off of social media for a few years. I had a hard time participating in platforms used to divide, misinform and impede indie investigation of truth, loot data and cause a mental health epidemic. It was amazing for my wellbeing! Can I come back and still keep that peace?

This is my three time great grandmother, Eliza Bobo. She was born as an enslaved person in 1844. She was in her 20s when emancipation came. Her daughter, Ida Bobo, was also born a slave. She died in Watts in 1963. My older brother & sister were babies learning to walk/crawl down the street.
I asked my 82 year old father how it feels to get old today. He said it feels great when you’re not afraid to look back.
