We had an upright piano. I suppose it encouraged us (including my two sisters) to make our own music. When the record player arrived, I used to try & play along with it. Then I gave up & made-up my own tunes (much to everyone's annoyance) 😁

Yes, I did look at it for quite some time. I sang to it, in case it 'magic'd-up a record player. It didn't, but eventually I managed to borrow my cousin's Dansette player. About 2 years later (& after several album purchases), I got a Philips record deck & STEREO speakers! My life was complete!!

Here's the first album I ever bought (back in 1968 - & I didn't even have a record player!)...
