I don't think the Edinburgh Fringe represents Scotland as a whole. I've been all over the place both as a kid and with kids as an adult and I've never found it to be unwelcoming to children. If you are purely talking about the laws in pubs, I think they are appropriate.

The layers thing, I completely agree btw. It's crazy. I'm constantly wandering around in a t-shirt still too hot and some of these maniacs have SCARVES on.
So sorry for your loss x
My dad used to make us do surprise fire drills (we moved a few times so at least once in every house). I mentioned this at work the other day and found out this is Not Normal ๐ but I 100% back my dad- he wanted his kids to survive a fire! I'm now an adult who always knows where the exits are.
Off topic but you look SO strikingly like Rose here (or she looks like you I guess is more accurate)

We don't celebrate, we just need 2 days for hangovers because we do Hogmanay properly.
I was talking to a colleague last night (who is a tiny baby child of just 23 years) who had recently seen Gladiator 2. I asked if it was worth seeing and she said for Pedro alone and I was delighted by this cross-generational crushing. The kids are alright.
