I don’t “network,” I make friends. Other artists are not my competition, they’re my beloved peers and sources of inspiration. We all have the same goal; to share our art. I’m not gonna corporatize my human relationships with them. I am in my sandbox playing and I hope they join me.
My bass song repertoire is now five songs long, which is kinda cool! Excited to start doing more challenging stuff soon

Sometimes we are lucky that it strikes gold and reaches the correct audience! But it would be a shame for art to just submit to safety just to keep an audience that wanted something different in the first place.

I don’t want to go into the gritty details bc a few things are spoilerish, but it did bring me both my best friend and my wife. I think about M3 every now and again even over ten years on.
I never really posted anything for MOTHER3’s anniversary yesterday, but I enjoyed the day quietly anyway. It was a nice reminder of how much that game changed my life in so many ways.

It comes down very surface level to what the pickups (the rectangle thingies on the body) are, which influences the sound the bass makes! Also the thickness of the neck and the shape of the body, but you know, *waves hand around*
Also took me embarrassingly long to realise I gave him a J bass when this dude is clearly a P bass player

It’s extra hard when it’s your own life work in play. But it’s just a death sentence imo to give yourself up for the sake of bigger sales. Def feels like more and more artists within my radar are coming to realise this 😔
We had to sit down recently too and have a similar conversation with both ourselves and one another towards how we wanted our own business to continue - how we wanted to have a better work/life balance, more time for ourselves yadda yadda. It’s hard, and oftentimes feels so risky and uncertain!
Such a “big mood” out of this. Brilliantly put into words! A lot of people don’t realise just how much goes on behind the scenes of these indie projects and their fulfilment that impacts the creators so directly. I hope you’re feeling better now physically and mentally 🫂
