Same in Spain with "mermelada". And it´s the same in Portugal who invented the word and it was related originally to quince ("membrillo"). If you go to eat breakfast to a bar in Spain, you´ll probably be offered strawberry or apricot/peach. At home... each to their own.

In Spain and Portugal most sold/eaten "mermelades" are not citric related. Strawberries, blueberries, peaches, figs, apples, plums, tomatoes... There is a lot to choose from, and probably is the same in a lot of countries. Makes sense to change this (in fact, is long overdue).

Well, what happens in Libia has a direct impact in multiple EU countries (Italy goes first). Same with the whole Sahel region. Meanwhile, USA can walk away and leave the mess behind for others suffer and/or deal with it. That´s not a choice most of EU countries have I guess.
