a digital illustration in the style of a relief print depicting a black cat in a defensive pose holding a torn and tattered transgender pride flag in its mouth as it looks directly towards the viewer. the background is purple with some specks of blue and pink showing through, and behind the cat is a black midground resembling grass or flames. the top right corner features a box with a caption reading "T.D.O.V."
DON'T LET THE BASTARDS GET YOU DOWN ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ

In 2024 I wrote CUCKOO, a novel about how Americans hate their gay and trans children so much they'd rather kill them than let them exist. Here we are in the middle of another grotesque demonstration of the depth of that hatred.
I'm so glad we set up a system where 9 assholes get to decide if kids get tortured or not. Great system. Cool country.
no i don't think we should be complacent to pay higher sales tax forever so that billionaires don't have to be taxed to pay for vital services actually.
really appreciate this piece from @margaret.bsky.social this morning ๐ read to feel an iota of hope today

THIS WEEK!
In addition to @stephwilliams.bsky.social's cracking script, look at @charliekirchoff.com's colors. LOOK AT THEM.
Honestly, I've never worked this closely with a colorist before. Charlie sent me a bunch of swatches to overlay over my balloons and SFX.
My copies of Wonder Woman #29 and #30 by Stephanie Williams, Jeffrey Spokes and Clayton Cowles.
This 2 issue story "The Village" by @stephwilliams.bsky.social and Jeffrey Spokes is the kind of story the amazons were created to tell. The art is gorgeous and the message of community helping us overcome our doubts and strife is particularly relevant these days. Absolutely phenomenal. #comicsky

you definitely can charge for a book club. apparently book stores do it all the time (im in a bookseller group on fb and they talk about this). also would suggest adding a couple hail mary tiers, like $50+ . i have some that are like "$3000- pay our rent" lol .
capitalism is a plague. greedy landlords, rising costs of bills plus declining consumer spending all mean that every single one of your local faves struggles constantly. we do this bc we love it and we want to be here. we are appreciative of everyone who comes in and shops with us vs online ๐
the sad reality: your favorite local haunts (that indie bookstore with the queer book club, the game shop that hosts tcg nights, the cafe with local art shows, etc) are always teetering on the edge of closure every single month. just a reminder to show these places love whenever you can.
everyone who's ever caught a jigglypuff in their bathroom rn: ๐ซฉ
I've read a bunch of books lately where the main character is a trainwreck who hooks up with tons of people.
That's totally fine.
But here's my plea: Can we occasionally see happy sluts who hook up with tons of people because they enjoy sex?

everything costco, dying my own hair, not ever having children, only shopping secondhand
if youre in san francisco on march 27 you can tell the kodansha ceo of usa publishing that this sucks and you hate it
it sucks how basically every manga we get in english from a major publisher moving forward is going to be AI translated slop and there's literally nothing we can do about it
